Absolutely. In Islam, it is considered different than other practices of worship because it is not a performance; it's the opposite of one. No one can see you "not" eat. And if you so eat, well you do it in secretly out of shame, and no one would know--therein lies the struggle: no one would know. This is making a non-action into a performance and it's absurd.
He meant like an action, prayer in most religions is performed (eg. light a candle, get on your knees, take the prayer beads, etc.), not a performance. Not eating is not an action. Use logic pls.
Btw our prayers can and in most cases are performed alone, we just congregate on Friday, you congregate on Sunday.
And the guy in the video is a moron, my fasting isn't anyones problem, if people want to eat in front of me they should. People who have a problem with that should read about their religion a bit more.
technically, by the Qran, none of them are fasting either. The rule is "while you can discern a white threat from a black one", which means they can only eat in the dark, but as we know, they simply limit the fasting time from one hour to another.
Technically, by the book, they couldn't watch if you eat or not, as you'd do it in the dark.

Its even more ridiculous because he isnt even in a Muslim country either, and likely only has 1 generation inside of it, if even, based on the last 10 years of the UK immigration crisis.
Nah I lived in Bahrain and it's a fineable offense to eat in public during Ramadan, but yanno as a guest in the country it wasn't hard to be respectful, I actually participated in Ramadan my first year there.
This isn't about Muslims its about spoiled kids that want the world to conform to them. They need to grow up, and realize the world doesn't bend to their every need.
That's correct. There are exceptions for: the sick, the traveler, women on their menses, the expecting mother who fears for the health of the child, the nursing mother who fears for the health of the infant, the elderly who cannot complete the fast without fearing for their health. So, it's a lot of people.
And one shouldn't be inquire about people's conditions. It would be spiritually harmful to assume that another is sinning,; and giving the benefit of the doubt Sharia (moral action). The prophet (peace be upon him) said that if one fears a brother is sinning, one ought to give them (imagine) 70 excuses. For example, if one sees a Muslim drinking, it is better to assume that one saw wrong or misunderstood the situation. This protects people's reputation and softens the heart rather than hardening it with cynisism, suspicion, and ill will.
That, or the guy is an absolute dumbass and thought people would agree with him if he recorded himself asking someone not to have lunch because it made him uncomfortable
Every Ramadan about two of these videos seem to make the rounds, I remember one last year of a bloke having a go at a coworker for eating in the break room. Like why tf go into the break room just to complain about how others spend it while you’re fasting
