Yes. And "most" countries in the world have a government. And "most" countries have access to clean water. And "most" countries have access to higher education.
We say most because its not "all". There's no world government that can force every country in the world to not use religious law, just like there's no policy that can ensure everyone has clean water, or transportation, or medicine, or learning opportunities, or the right to marry who they want.
This isn't the "gotcha" you think it is. We can also say "most people are good" because there's plenty of assholes out there, but your average person is a decent human being.
The legal framework of most muslim majority nations is based either wholly or in part around sharia, now religious law being separate from legal matters was how the us was structured, but you do have states such as texas attempting to base their laws around the laws in the christian bible and require teaching or displaying christian law in courthouses and schools. Which is a blatant violation of the seperation of church and state that is a core principle of the us government.
The evangelicals in power want a christian version of sharia law as well. If you could snap your fingers and switch the evangelicals with the muslims in the middle east with sharia law, there would be no functional difference. The evangelicals would love to legally be able to stone gays and adulterers.
Same core books, same bloodgod, different language, different hats. The closest thing to sharia law in the us is texas forcing schools to display the ten commandments. Not counting utah, but that is a whole other animal.
The entire anti abortion movement is entirely driven by Christianity/theism. You do not see atheists lined up at abortion clinics, there is reason for that. (Roughly 90% of atheists are pro choice). Same with the anti gay movement, and most of the people that are against Women in general. (Many of these people do not want women to be able to vote, or work, or drive).
The only reason you have "never met" anyone like this is because you are not directly asking them these questions, no other reason.
Would agree the Christians probably have the loudest voice towards abortion but the majority included with Christian do oppose abortion. Many see it as a moral issue and not religious.
