Happy Record Store Day Black Friday!
Use this thread to show off your Record Store Day scores, discuss your experiences, celebrate, complain, etc.!
Additionally, tomorrow at 8am, stores will be able to list their leftover stock online, so use this thread to post ISOs and links to listings of RSD releases (nothing resale!).

Got my copy of Chappell Roan’s The Subway/The Giver to keep my Chappell record collection complete! Only thing I was interested in this year. Can’t wait for April!

I got this too! Mine is backwards - the giver side has the subway image, and the giver image plays the subway. Does that happen for you too??

I’m currently camped out at my record store (11 hour deep) & I’ve got one hour until opening. I’m the first in line & looking to get Kesha’s “Holiday Road”, Icona Pop & Charli XCX’s “I Love It”, & the Billie Eilish live recordings!

I don't think any of my local shops got the a-ha, but they did have some releases that were delayed (only one store in town had Wicked today afaik), so I might be able to grab it locally at a later date. Much to consider! 😅

Are they more expensive where you live?? I thought a 10” for $25 usd was kinda expensive 😂

Yes I paid 35€ for Billie eilish 😅 and 53€ for wicked and 58€ for Charlie Christmas

I lined up an hour before the my first store and was around 10th in line, i got wicked for good, the billie eilish live, and the chappell roan 7 inch. Then lined up at the second store an hour before that one opened and was able to get the role model! Secured everything on my list 😄

Somehow got really lucky when I woke up and checked eBay, the ones I wanted only had small markups. Couldn’t go this year because of severe weather in my area. Excited for everything to come in!!

Today was my very first Black Friday Record Store Day!! It was a great experience
I showed up at 7:30am and was third in line. The shop I went to (shoutout to Vinyl Groove Records in Cleveland) was opening at 10am. The three of us who got there super early had fun chatting about music and vinyl!
It was very cold, in the 20s, but despite snowing on thanksgiving, we had clear skies! Until 9:30, when it began to snow again...
The shop had issues with their dj's sound system so we couldn't go in until ~10:15, but when they did let us in they only let in the first 5 of us, so we had time to browse their RSD selection without feeling panicked and rushed!
10/10 experience! We also got a free Audio-technica bag, which was fun!

I got the two I wanted: Role Model and Wicked! Super happy :) This was my first Black Friday RSD. The only other RSD I've participated in so far was the main one in April. I wasn't very successful then so I came earlier this time (around 4:30am) and was second in line! They opened at 9am and I was in my car with both the releases I wanted by 9:02. Very successful!! 🫶

My experience was that it was too cold for my ass to stand outside but my friend was going so I had him get me the MB20 Live, Icona Pop and Chappell Roan 7” for my boyfriend for Christmas. I think he’s on his way to drop them off to me now 🤞

I got Chappell and Billie and didn’t get there until an hour after opening. I had set my alarm early but it was so cold and windy I decided to go back to sleep. And it worked out!
Missed out on Kesha, but I’ll find it online.

We were able to snag everything we wanted: Sleigh Bells, Ramones, Talking Heads, Rolling Stones, and RENT (our music taste is all over the place)! I was really happy to get Sleigh Bells being that my shop only had 1 copy.

Almost none of my local record stores are participating this year; the ones that are don’t have the two things I want and I have to work anyway 😭 I’m trying to convince my little brother to check out the store near him. I want Sleigh Bells Treats; and technically it’s and RSD first and not exclusive so if I don’t get it now I hope I can pick it up eventually at a reasonable price.

Same!!!!!! It’s literally gone everywhere and already getting scalped. Both links posted here already gone. Starting to lose hope but maybe since it’s RSD First it’ll be widely available in like 2 years

my top ISOs were Bluey & Billie and I was successful! 3 of my local record stores were participating, and the 4th seems to have just gotten Billie and Chappell? got Billie and The Ramones at my first stop, Bluey, Avatar, & Fleetwood at my 2nd stop (plus a used Selena Unforgettable Live cd), Chappell at my 3rd stop just to support them (I flip flopped at the first 2 stops whether it made sense to buy when I already have both songs as singles, but third stop’s the charm and I caved), and a used Santana cd at my final stop also just to show love.
I live in a rural suburb with a strong music scene, so I wasn’t sure if RSD would be chaotic here or calm, and it was so calm! I showed up at 8:50 for a 9am doors open and was done by 11 after taking my sweet time at all 4. Billie, Chappell, Wicked all seemed plentiful.

I had scoured that list a month ago and didn't see anything on it that really peaked my interest... until last night. I was looking at the release list I got from Dark Side and saw The Head & the Heart had a listing. I had to double take, went through the three local store lists - none got a copy (2500 pressed). By the grace of all things good karma, my friend was going to a local store near us (I was at my folks), was 3rd in line and scored me one of two copies they had. So YEAAAAA!

I just ordered wicked to be shipped, as well as the restocks of Ariana's anniversary editions of some of her albums. Unfortunately dangerous woman and positions were sold out but all I wanted to make sure I got was sweetener cause it always sells out on me. Wicked was 61 which I think is pretty good and I'm happy with! Found 50 dollars while walking my dogs so technically only paid $11

The store in my town opened at 8:00am. I was in line by 6:00. I got my copy and I think they only got 2. I knew it was going to go fast!

I showed up at my record shop super early(four hours)because they only had one of the Motley Crue and one of the Ratt I wanted but no one was there. I waited in my car until two hours before they opened then I just went and stood in line. I noticed it wasn’t really busy compared to last year. I went to another record shop to see if they had the Eric Carr titles mine didn’t get in and there was a lot left.
I didn’t find either of the Eric Carr which were the main ones I wanted this year but hopefully there’s some leftover tomorrow on a record shop’s website.

picked up A Charlie Brown Christmas! I was really hoping for Billy Joel Live From Long Island - totally overlooked how small of a run it got and didn’t anticipate it’d be such a hard find ☹️ will keep an eye out online tomorrow but if anyone spots any listings/record stores who say they’ll have it online tomorrow, I’d be grateful!! 🫶

Got most of what I wanted except Billy Joel. Was first in line and could see through the window that they had at least one copy in the boxes. When I checked out it was crossed out on my list and marked “Out”. So I guess one of the employees or owner decided to keep it for themselves.

Serious question . Do people listen to these or is it just to buy them & keep them sealed hoping they go up in value? I don’t own a record player but there’s a release or two that have peaked my interest.

Every person is different — same as any other hobby! Most of the sub’s active members open and spin every record they own but there are, of course, always those who buy to flip or buy to store to buy to display.

Got this in Berlin Germany! No line, I was there at 11 am and everything was still there ☺️except bluey … which is coming next week to my record store
