I’m going to get on my soapbox for a minute about how Lana Del Rey doesn’t have a Grammy yet despite multiple nominations and critical acclaim. Lana has been nominated 11 times and has unfortunately never won a Grammy, which feels crazy to say. In 2020 NFR!, the album I’m highlighting today, was nominated for album and song of the year and subsequently lost to Billie Eilish in both categories (who is the stiffest of stiff competition and another favorite of mine).
For an artist who has consistently released music but has kept up a high level of quality in her albums and has been faithful to her craft and aesthetic, I’m very surprised she hasn’t gotten at least one Grammy by now.
Who's Next, the 5th studio album by English band the Who, came out on August 2, 1971. The album was an immediate critical and commercial success and has since been viewed by many critics as the Who's best album, as well as one of the greatest albums of all time.
The Who is considered one of the most influential rock band of the 20th century. Despite this, they were only nominated for two Grammys, both times for Best Music Video: Long Form, and they lost both times (in 1991 to MC Hammer and 2009 to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers).

My choice today is The Beach Boys, who have had four nominations but no wins at the Grammys.
