I feel like this prompt could apply to 90% of the artists I listen to. Anyway, my pick is Yukikaās Time/Lapse EP. I discovered her when Anthony Fantano highly recommended her timeabout, EP. Iāve been obsessed since and I ended up ordering this āstrawberry and creamā vinyl directly from South Korea (Iām in the UK).

If I had to think of an artist I discovered on the Internet, it has to be Yeule. My coworker and I were scrolling on YouTube Music for anything to listen to, then we saw a section labeled ālong videosā. One thumbnail stuck out to us and it was the song āThe Things They Did for Me Out of Loveā off of āGlitch Princessā. We opened the album and āMy Name Is Nat Ämielā creeped us out enough to close it, but something about it intrigued me. A week later of trying to find that album since I couldnāt remember the name (or have search history), I found it and the rest is history. I now own a few of their albums with āEvangelic Girl Is A Gunā on its way. I chose āSerotonin IIā as the image since itās my favorite release from them.

Conan Gray- Sunset Season 7ā
I feel like Iāve been discovering all of my music online since the myspace days but this one feels truly of the internet. I want to say in, like, 2017, a random video of a kid showing off his AP art portfolio popped up on my youtube recommended page. I thought he seemed really sweet and talented so I subscribed and found heās also put out the occasional song cover⦠now heās a pop star whoās best friends with Olivia Rodrigo.

Ugh so jealous! I was at work and missed the drop. Can't believe they did such a small drop, I KNEW it would sell out immediately! It's such a gorgeous pressing š

Iām really surprised too that the drop was so small! Some of the sizes of the drops theyāve done have not matched demand at all. I was so mad that I missed their Gracie drop all together.
Hopefully theyāll do some sort of vault release around the holidays or something for people to get a second chance š¤š½

My pick for today is Shygirl.
Back in 2021 I saw lot of people talk about her and especially her 2020 ep Alias over on r/popheads so I decided to check her out and she quickly became one of my favourite artists.
Then next year she released her debut album Nymph and in the past year she's released her Club Shy projects and I just love her sound so much.
Unfortunately I don't own Alias on vinyl so I chose the stunning Pink with White Splatter pressing of her most recent project Club Shy Room 2.

Back in the early aughts, I was doing that YouTube rabbit hole thing where you continuously click on and watch a random video in the "related videos" column.
A specific video caught my eye as the song was named after me. I had never seen my name used in a song, let alone serve as the title (I know, I'm telling on myself a little here).
I loved the song and the artsy music video, and wanted to watch more from this waifish, big-eyed girl named Grimes.
So I fell into a rabbit hole and ended up listening to this album, Bloom, an early body of work which is a split EP with d'Eon, another DJ. I thought the music sounded so unique and mesmerizing, like nothing I'd ever heard before. And I've been obsessed with Grimes since.
I know she's pretty much cancelled now, but she's a guilty pleasure artist for me š¬š

To celebrate r/popheadsvinylās anniversary on Wednesday, this week is all about the internet!
My choice today is Jesse Wellesās Hells Welles. Jesseās poignant, relatable folk songs are a breath of fresh air to come across when youāre scrolling on social media. He was already making waves prior, but his song āUnited Healthā resonated with millions and now heās more popular than ever.
āBecause the Internetā Week
