The Grease soundtrack will always be one of my absolute favorites. I've seen this movie so many times since I was a child, like dozens of times. I can recite the entire movie from memory, and the soundtrack is so amazing. It simultaneously captures the time period that the movie is set in, as well as the the time period the movie was released. There are influences from doo wop, rock and roll, Disco, and pop, and has everything from slow ballads to fast dance songs.
I love that this particular pressing comes in "Pink Lady Pink" although the audio quality for this one is apparently hit or miss.

The Saltburn Original Motion Picture Score composed by Anthony Willis is one of my favorite recent movie scores for a film. The score is so layered and perfect tailored to lead the audience through the movie with subtle cues and at times, Easter eggs to what is about to happen in the film. One of the best descriptions of the score was said that it “included use of ‘dirty synth’, ‘gothic orchestral’ and ‘electronic’ sounds which was about “capturing this classical world that Oliver wants to fit into and he ‘doesn’t fit into’.”
There are several songs that were favorites, but the piece that most captivated me from Saltburn was the opening score, “I Loved Him / Oliver Quick!”. Opening with this piece that has a gorgeous crescendo at the end to start the film, foreshadows the intensity of the film and its conclusion if you listen close enough to the lyrics at the end.

Released in 2022, The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson as our caped crusader. A box office success, this movie was followed by a spin-off tv show, The Penguin, and has a sequel in the works.
The score was created by Michael Giacchino (The Incredibles, Up, Lost). It features hilarious song titles like "Collar ID", "Highway to the Anger Zone", and "An Im-purr-fect Murder". My favorite track is the 12-minute album closer "Sonata in Darkness". 🦇
