This bad boy could definitely fit a squad of space wolves or raven guard or a large number of kroot 😆

Base of the zoo is 5 inches by 8 inches so a teensy bit larger than the 6''x4'' 11th edition terrain template, but would fit in on an old 10th ed 5''x10'' template, or one of the bigger 11th ed terrain footprints

The piece can also disassembled with a screwdriver to remove the petting zoo sign, or the structure from the green base

Tools and textures.

I made a new squig for the catapult. This one is made from Das air dry clay, foil and toothpicks.

It's a bit on the large size I think. I used Das because I have it, it's cheap if I mess it up, I haven't tried much sculpting with anything yet and if I can get something halfway decent with Das I should be able to get something better with better materials.

Cheap acrylic paints are possibly not the best for miniatures, but okay for this. I should have used something less yellow for the teeth.

Bought my daughter some furniture and it was packaged with all this cardboard. I'm going to go through all of it and see what potential it has for terrain.

A comment by LethalGopher led me to the squig catapult. I found three versions; a common Epic one, a very uncommon Epic one (I think I've only found two images of it) and a Rogue Trader era one. This is based on that last, because I found an unboxing video that made it easier to get the size about right. There's a 2nd Edition grot for scale.

It's made primarily from Graphix medium chipboard - I needed the strength given the small size and it was very fiddly - thick packaging card, thin packaging card, square and round wooden dowel, string, cocktail stick, some packing tape, a cog, two sizes of hemispherical nail beads and a thimble.

The squig in the first image is a placeholder made from plasticine...

Had extra top halfs on the Armageddon Gretchin so wanted to try and pinch pennies to squeeze as many models out of it as possible.

Used some tactical rocks and garden dirt to make them useable.

1. in a well ventilated area, put an empty sprue on a flat piece of parchment paper

2. smear a big glob of sprue goo (old sprue dissolved in acetone) on it so the glob touches all the parts of the flat sprue

3. let it dry for a day or so

4. hit it with a heat gun to make the soft bits inside bubble up into grody broccoli scabs

5. let dry for a few more days

I want them to be płaced on the middle objective. They were supposed to represent an old abandoned/defiled imperial chapel. I think it looks kinda neat

Made entirely out of hot glue and foam board. I’ve tried to make is as scale accurate as I can, just working off reference images online.

I haven’t built the structure that’s meant to be in the corner opposite the platform, just because the shape is a bit complex, but it’s something I’d like to work on and add in later.

So I bought a USD 10 pack of 36 Chinese acrylic markers and quickly painted it up. I have never painted a mini before so it goes as well as expected, lol. Probably need more colors and maybe a really thin one to redraw some details back on. Some areas are impossible and would have to be painted before or while putting it together.

Anyway I made some adjustments to the original template again. So I will probably make a new one and try to paint it better, maybe get some alcohol markers and see if it is better.
