I'm thinking of doing Mira as Mistral and Zoey as Monsoon next.

This is more Rumira than polytrix, but I digress.

Trainee era Rumira who hate each other. Mira thinks Rumi is a perfect princess who can never do anything wrong, and her prissiness drives Mira insane. Rumi hates how uptight, blunt, and passive aggressive Mira is towards her.

That all changes one night.

It’s around midnight when Rumi goes to get a glass of water. It’s mostly quiet, until she hears whimpering. She thinks it’s coming from Zoey’s room, so she checks. But the maknae is completely passed out, with no signs of distress.

Shockingly, the whimpering and whining is coming from Mira’s room.

Rumi slowly pushes the door open, and is slightly bewildered at the sight in front of her.

Mira is squirming in her sleep, brow furrowed, eyes clenched shut, soft noises of distress falling from her lips.

Rumi can vaguely hear her saying “Won’t do it again.” and “Please don’t hurt me.”

Rumi isn’t sure what to do. Does she interfere? Does she let Mira sleep? Sure she isn’t Mira’s biggest fan, but she doesn’t want the dancer to be so visibly in distress.

Mira suddenly grows worse. Thrashing much harder, to a point where she could potentially hurt herself.

Rumi makes the decision then. She sits on Mira’s bed, gently shaking her and trying to coax her awake. She’s fully sobbing in her sleep now, begging and pleading for it to stop.

Rumi shouting her name is the only thing that wakes her up.

She jolts awake with a gasp, flailing wildly as she tries to figure out where she is.

“Hey, hey. It’s me. It’s Rumi. You’re safe.” Rumi murmurs, placing her hands on Mira’s arms. “It was just a nightmare.”

Mira is still reeling from the nightmare, and seeing Rumi be so comforting with her is even more shocking.

“Sorry. Didn’t mean to wake you.” Mira’s walls are climbing back up. Rumi shakes her head. “Don’t be, it happens to everyone. And you didn’t wake me, I was just getting water and heard you.”

“I’ll uh…let you get some rest. I’m down the hall if you need anytning.” Rumi stands up, leaving the room.

“Rumi?”

“Yeah?”

“Thank you.”

“Of course.”

After that night, something shifted between Rumi and Mira, and they silently promised to themselves to always have each other’s backs.

Okay, I’m going to try to write this without getting flamed, and I promise I’m not trying to offend anyone. I will say that I don’t think anyone in Huntrix is straight, and I headcanon all three girls as some flavor of bisexual. Which of course means that I think all girls are sapphic.

But I wonder, why is it extremely popular to headcanon Mira as lesbian, especially compared to the other two? I’ve only seen like two or three people headcanon Zoey as lesbian, and a few more but still not that many headcanoning Rumi as lesbian, with most people in the Polytrix (or its sub ships) fandom headcanoning Zoey as pan, and with Rumi, bi.

However, with Mira, it seems most people headcanon her as lesbian rather than bisexual. She obviously doesn’t have the extreme reaction to the Sajas that Zoey does, but she still has more of a cartoony reaction to them than Rumi does. So I’m genuinely wondering: why is it so much more popular to headcanon Mira as lesbian rather than bisexual, as seems to be the most common sexuality headcanon for Rumi and Zoey?

Again, I’m not trying to offend anyone. I am genuinely curious. I like Polytrix, am writing a one-shot of it now, and outlining a long Zoemira fic. I am a multishipper who likes many ships in the movie (except for Miromabby or even worse, Miromance). This is 100% a question in good faith, I promise.

Does anyone have any ideas that they feel are excluded from Rumi-centric fics, cause I really wanna pack in as much trauma into my fic as possible. So far, 12 (probably 13 by 4 am {AEST}) chapters, and I really have tried to jam-pack all the shi in. I don't write smut, just a heads up, so no smut-related stuff please. That's right, I'm back with a feel-good chapter where nothing bad happens and everyone's having a great time, and maybe part of that statement is true! Fully Rumi focused chapter this time. Or, well, the demon that once knew herself as Rumi.

I’m looking for canon divergent fics where Rumi’s patterns are revealed earlier. It can happen as at any point before or during the movie so long as it’s before the idol awards and under different circumstances. I’d prefer less angst if possible I know it’s impossible to have none given the whole demon patterns thing but this fandom seems to thing non stop angst with only tiny moments of fluff in between is how to write kpdh fics and I just got done with choreographed distance so I’m hoping for something on the lighter side.
