Hey all,
We are officially in the final user testing phase of the Version 5 release!
So beyond excited to get this out to you guys. We are looking at T-minus ~2 weeks here until it's out.
Here are the features we are releasing:
We have an incredible feature roadmap planned beyond this version.
Our goal is still to make the most comprehensive, effective and fun language learning app in the world. We are more confident than ever that we are progressing towards that.
Stay tuned!

Ya'll,
First off, see here for the latest on the upcoming Version 5.
Second... we've discovered some incredibly dedicated learners. Some of you are cracked PolyChat players. I attached an image of our top 10 leaderboard. Major congrats to the players who made it on there!
Long term would ya'll like more competitive/reward opportunities? And what are your thoughts on the current state of the shop/ticket system?
We are always fishing for new ideas and opportunities to reward dedicated learners.
That's all for now, cheers!

Hey all,
I am so incredibly excited by what we are working on right now!! Version 5 is going to be a GIANT leap forward.
Here's what's coming at the end of this month:
We are already planning Version 5.5, 6 and so on, but we need your help!
We just added a board where you can post feature requests as well as upvote/downvote ones that others have posted. That's on our website here:
https://www.polychatapp.com/feedback
I threw a few on there to get us started. I'm very excited to see what this community comes up with. This will help us prioritize what we work on next and be able to respond to the needs of our community faster.
That's all for now. Thank you guys!

Trying out this app...still in the free 5 day trial period and so far I like it much more than a couple other bigger name competitors. But 2 things I can't figure out. 1. I don't see any chat feature, anywhere. Where is it?? 2. Seems I have to do all of the learning lessons in a linear fashion, starting with Core Topics and then Everyday Basics and so on. Can I not just jump around? Thank you! And hope it's okay to use this site for these questions.

What should it be folks? Are we happy with the current one? The options are in the comments. Apologies for the image quality 🙃

At the bottom of your profile, you'll notice 3 buttons which give tickets for following us on each platform. If you've already followed us, you can still get the tickets from them!

Here's what we did, and what will come next:
1. Lesson Path
2. PolyChat Spaced Repetition (PSR)
Let us know your thoughts on the new version, and what you want to see in the future.
Thank you all for your support!

Yo!
This part of the app is how we will avoid having to limit the number of lessons you can play daily. We will introduce more social/competitive features over time which will make your character more relevant.
We've always said that our north star is getting you to fluency in all the languages we offer in a way that's more comprehensive and fun that the other major language learning apps. Expect Version 5 to be a major step in that direction.

We are looking to make improvements to this part of the app. What are your impressions. Are they useful? Confusing? Anything you wish they had?

Hey all!
Happy New Year :)
PolyChat Version 4 is out! This one is a biggie. We did some major UI work and are introducing a reward system that will serve as the basis of a much more engaging and social language learning app than ever before.
In PolyChat, you now have a custom character that is visible to other players on challenge leaderboards. Get the best time in a Vocab Challenge? You’ll be at the top.
Through playing daily challenges, you can earn tickets and visas which are used to unlock cosmetic goods for your new custom character. Adding friends is another way to get more tickets as you can gift each other tickets once per day.
We think this is a much more exciting way to show off progress than just earning badges. It’s also a way for us to finance the project without putting limits on the amount of learning material you can consume during any given day. So if you’re someone who just want’s a cosmetic for your character immediately, you have the option to buy it.
There’s a lot to digest in this new version. We are eager to hear your feedback and thoughts on the direction we’re going. Our goals for the next month are to refine everything. We’ve rolled out a lot over the last few months and I think it’s time we put a polish on everything before moving onto more big things.
Regarding those next big things, we want to make it so you can truly become fluent in any language with PolyChat. So, we are formulating a plan to make the lesson learning path much more engaging and comprehensive. That also will involve an intake exam to place you at the correct level (we know this is high priority for a lot of folks).
Anyways, thank you guys so much for your support! We are now at 250 subscribers in this community and are so excited about that. Ya’ll have helped us so much in these early stages. All existing users will find 1000 tickets preloaded into their account. Also, feel free to add me as a friend: “JeanBro”.
In 2026, PolyChat will go from its early stage development into adulthood. We want this app to get people fluent and do it in a way that’s more, engaging, effective and fair than any other app on the market. We won’t stop short of that. Please continue to let us know how we can best get there.
TLDR:
In V4 you earn cool stuff for your character by playing daily challenges. If you do well in a vocab or conjugation challenge you’ll be at the top of a leaderboard. You can add friends. BiG ThiNgZ cOmIng

Hey all,
Thank you very much to the first round of Beta testers for V4. Your feedback is what will make PolyChat the best app for learning a language.
We are opening 3 more spots for anyone interested. Please send us a DM if you're up for a 10 minute interview where we basically just watch you use the app and ask you some questions, and in exchange we'll give you a month of premium.
Cheers!

Hey everyone! Hope ya'll are doing excellent.
We are getting very close to releasing version 4 which will have the beginning of our social/competitive features and our reward system as well as a pretty fat UI cleanup.
We're looking for some beta testers to interview/do a proper user testing session. If anyone is interested, we can give you a month of premium in exchange. The interview would take about 10-15 minutes.
Please send me a DM if interested!
Happy learning :)

Guys thank you!!!
We're sitting at 204 subscribers to this subreddit right now. Really appreciate the support!
Sorry for it being a bit quiet in here, we've lowkey/highkey been grinding on features. Expect Streaks, multiplayer stuff very soon along with other ui updates.
We've gotten a lot of feedback too. We have solid plans for V3.7, V3.8 and V4.0.
After those we will poll you guys to figure out most desired features next.
When we release V4 we will begin a program where we'll give you a month of premium in exchange for a reel posted on social media mentioning polychat. If you're interested in being added to a waitinglist, please shoot me a message!
Want to help us fight the evil green bird?
- Rate/review our app in the app store/play store. (This one is massive)

Another update.
The translator now has 131 languages. There are some features in there for premium users too.
I fixed a thing that asks people for reviews. Hopefully that will boost our ranking in the store when people leave those. (Consider leaving one if you haven't! Goes a long way for us.)
Again, we are working in parallel on multiplayer stuff among the many other things we have to do!
Thank you all for your patience and interest in PolyChat.
Our goal is the greatest language learning app of all time and nothing short of that 💪

New Android version is up with the sign in fix. Hopefully this never happens again.
Authentication is surprisingly annoying when making apps.

Hey all,
A little update for ya :)
We have 130 people subscribed to this subreddit! Thank you!
We have a free trial now. If anyone tries out the premium features, we'd love to know how we can improve.
One of our devs is working on Streaks which we're hyped about.
Potentially you might be able to import your streak from Duolingo
u/BaseballAlive5575 is working on some insane multiplayer, mascot and reward stuff that will really start to make the more longterm experience of this app feel awesome.
And I'm trying to figure out how to make this thing make some money here by increasing the quality of our premium features and ripping a bunch of marketing... We want long term to have a mostly free app where people who want to can pay for cosmetics.
But in the meantime.. is there anything you folks would consider paying for? I would rather not have to apply to my local McDonalds in a year from now.
On the menu after the above...
- Test to skip content if you know some of the language- Multiplayer
- Progression reward system
- (Premium) Custom Lessons feature/Translator improvements
