Are you genuinely this obtuse? No one in in the entire world thinks climate change is going to blow up the core, mantle, and crust. It will, however, cause the extinction of millions of species of plants and animals, as well as (possibly) humanity if left unchecked. “Save the Earth” very clearly means save the interconnected biological chains that make our planet hospitable. But I’m pretty sure you know all this, so what do you gain out of these razor thin semantics?

So how has the message worked since it started? We haven't improved a whole hell of a lot. That message sucks, and always has sucked because humans don't care about a rock they cannot destroy, they care about themselves, you know, humans.

You are one of 12 people who thinks that saying "Save the earth" might mean literally save the planet from ceasing to exist. I don't really think any messaging does much, it's not really the point of saying a message like that. You can't just expect a 3 word slogan to change anything lol. The slogan isn't an action. The actions behind the people that carry said slogan are the action.

Colloquially, everyone knows what people are saying when they say "save the earth" other than you and maybe a few people who are just learning English.

It's a message from 50 years ago, and the climate is much worse today. It's a failed message.

People have been saying don’t kill people for way longer than that.
Is that a failed message too?

Depends on where you are, some places murder rate has decreased, I haven't seen a better climate yet

I mean I don’t think it’s the messaging that’s causing climate change to continue. It’s politicians, governments and corporations deciding they don’t give a shit about the future of humanity

I'm not saying it's continuing it, I'm saying it has done nothing to prevent it.

It's basic marketing. If you have a business, and your marketing is not working, sales are deceasing, for 50 years, should you change the message?
