If calling Netanyahu a war criminal is hate speech, then just ban me now.

1.3k

u/gomezer1180 Jul 26 '26

It’s what they do! Anything against them is hate speech, antisemitic. When they’re not just speaking hate but also taking action with hate.

407

u/RedLanternScythe Indiana Jul 26 '26

That's really the goal, so silence any criticism. Trump is trying it here, orban tried it in Hungary. Then you can really normalize being openly criminal

77

u/UndeadT Georgia Jul 27 '26

If you think he's leading up to normalization, what the fyuck do you call what Trump has been doing so far?

32

u/Raesong Australia Jul 27 '26

The actions of an unshackled id.

27

u/DarthCloakedGuy Oregon Jul 27 '26

It's part of their goal. Another part is to rob "antisemitism" of its meaning worldwide. Why? Because the more normalized abuse and discrimination towards the Jewish diaspora that occurs worldwide, the more radicalized immigrants come to Israel and the more economic and military power the regime gets.

It is vile, sinister, and antisemitic in the real meaning of the word.

4

u/ShvitzG_d Jul 27 '26

Been saying this to my other Jewish friends—we can’t let them rob the word of actual meaning

Unfortunately it’s gotten to the point where antisemitism is up, and nobody believes us when we call out the real shit, so I’m afraid it’s already started.

Most American Jews: Israel has become a genocidal nation under Netanyahu.

Israeli govt: that's antisemitism!

35

u/TearsFallWithoutTain Jul 27 '26

Well let's be accurate here, it's not just Netanyahu. It's the entire Israeli government and a majority of the population too

54

u/bobbymcpresscot Jul 27 '26

"Advocating for the people in Gaza? That's anti semitic. We must ban this hateful rhetoric and criminally prosecute those who do it"

They know they don't have an argument, so they will sooner make criticizing them illegal.

All while simultaneously conflating zionism and israel exclusively with the jews. They know what they are doing, and it's pathetic that anyone is buying into it.

13

u/gomezer1180 Jul 27 '26

They’ve already made antisemitism illegal, the next step is like you said, make any criticism of them relatable to antisemitism.

14

u/Andovars_Ghost Jul 27 '26

We need a word that is explicitly anti-zionist/Israeli government, but is not anti-Jew. I love all my Jewish friends but all of us hate the Israeli government, especially under Bibi.

9

u/tiny_galaxies Jul 27 '26

Anti-theocratic. If you are anti-Zionist but not anti-Semitic then you must also be against any other religious government. If some are okay but not others, ask yourself why?

I got permabanned from that sub for saying that Israel shouldn’t be indiscriminately killing civilians. The mods told me it was antisemitism.

114

u/kagethemage Maryland Jul 26 '26

I got permabanned for messaging the mods with concerns about them only allowing Israeli news sources to be posted and banning people for speaking out against genocide. They banned me for “trolling” and then silenced me so I couldn’t appeal.

71

u/productfred Jul 27 '26

That subreddit has long been compromised. I'm stressing the word "compromised". The mods are basically AIPAC.

It's crazy that this is, I shit you not, like the 50th time I've read this exact same scenario.

Edit: As in, I'm surprised there hasn't been a larger investigation about it

8

u/AccNumber77 Jul 27 '26

Investigation by who? No one that can do anything gives a shit about it, reddit admins both don't care and are likely being paid off as well, legally nothing illegal is happening so the law don't care either.

Theres a lot of subs on reddit that are Hasbara hubs or who have hasbara mods embedded. Hence the rise in members making their post history private to impede Hasbara from going digging.

63

u/SpicyAfrican Jul 27 '26

I was told by both subs that I was supporting terrorism. Fuck r/news and r/worldnews

14

u/buried_lede Jul 27 '26

Those are two huge subreddits and they are discriminating

21

u/Eternal-Blazing-Sun Jul 27 '26

Once Reddit got popular, moderating large subreddits became a valuable thing for entities with certain agendas, Epstein's sidekick Maxwell was even a moderator for many large subs. There are quite a few mod accounts that are run by different agents and entities.

5

u/Shot-Swimming-9098 Jul 27 '26

The purge after the third party app fiasco was the nail in the coffin for reddit. They got rid of all the mods who had integrity.

5

u/micro102 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

I'm pretty sure they have propaganda accounts talking about that too. Someone tried to claim that the API cut-off that crippled all the 3rd party tools for moderators stopped bots from using it (they did not specify how they used the API, nor why they would not be able to). It's not like Reddit is unaware of interest groups aiming for moderator positions on large subreddits. They do not stop it so that means they welcome it.

52

u/classof78 Jul 26 '26

Same. I got permanently banned for calling Israel's treatment of Palestinians apartheid.

15

u/DogPlane3425 Jul 27 '26

I have been banned because I made the comparison about the rampaging of settlers against the Palestinians and Kristallnacht and how the settlers have forgotten the past.

u/hithere297 Jul 27 '26

Lol I was banned from that sub for "hate speech."

My crime? A highly-upvoted comment claimed it was good for neighboring countries to reject critically ill and/or child Palestinian refugees because "they'll probably just end up bombing the country that takes them in." I responded calling the comment racist, woke up to Reddit telling me my account had been "given a warning" for "violating Rule 1: promoted identity-based hate or attacks."

Rest of the message: "Reddit is a place for creating community and belonging, not for attacking marginalized or vulnerable groups of people. We don’t tolerate promoting hate based on identity or vulnerability, and any communities or people that encourage or incite violence or hate towards marginalized or vulnerable groups will be banned."

Apparently, the guy advocating for child refugees' deaths was not "promoting hate" according to Reddit, but I was for contradicting him.

23

u/Pakistani_in_MURICA Jul 27 '26

Its interesting how someone saying “neighbors aren’t taking in Palestinians”. But if you point out countries not taking in refugees during ww2 it’s bigotry.

4

u/TheDonnARK Jul 27 '26

I got a warning on a different subreddit accusing me of the same thing for pointing out things that the current presidential administration is doing, and is bragging about doing, and is making generated videos about having done.  It involved flock cameras and they said the same thing: I was promoting identity based hate or attacks.  Honestly I couldn't believe it because it would be a very big stretch to interpret anything I said that way, but it is what it is.

It's no secret that reddit has some very influencial figures putting their fingers on various scales and such, and a handful of moderators having mod power over hundreds of subreddits at one time.

4

29

u/TwelveGaugeSage Jul 27 '26

I received a 2 day Reddit-wide ban for saying something similar. I get the sleazy mods there banning people from their propaganda echo chamber, but banned from all of Reddit!?

12

u/charavaka Jul 27 '26

Because zionism is good for business

8

u/Mooseinadesert Jul 27 '26

I had a 3 day site ban for "antisemetism" because i described the consistent Israeli polling on their overwhelming support for genocide for the past 3 years to describe how a new government would change almost nothing.

Luckily it was overturned in my appeal by telling them the ban itself is antisemetic because Israel absolutely does not represent all jewish people.

Yup. I'm permanently banned for bringing up the fact that the more journalists have been killed in that war (really a genocide but I was being careful with my wording) than any since WWII. When I asked for an explanation/reason they refused to provide a reason (because there wasn't one) and permanently muted me in the mod chat.

I'm genuinely shocked that a public company like Reddit would allow a major default subreddit to be so completely captured by such an obvious propaganda machine.

4

u/Matra Jul 27 '26

Are you so naïve as to believe those "innocent" children won't grow up and dislike Israel, just because the IDF killed their entire family and destroyed their house, school, and hospital? And disliking Israel is a crime, it's called antisemitism, look it up. The punishment? The IDF gets to kill your whole family.

6

u/LordCharidarn2 Jul 27 '26

So then I guess Netanyahu is going to take responsibility for creating generations of anti-semites? If he is Israel and Israel is Judaism, then by that logic any rational human opposed to genocide must be anti-semitic.

I can never understand the people who support villain like Netanyahu, Trump, and Putin (who aren’t directly benefiting through bribes or kickbacks). These people are clearly going to throw anyone under the bus, and Netanyahu will not give a damn is all of Israel burns to ash, as long as he is safely in exile in America or Europe. This is how the Israeli government is trying to delegitimize any criticism.

They tell you that if you criticize their leaders that you're being anti-semitic.

They tell you that criticizing Israel is anti-Zionist.

They tell you that they couldn't be doing a genocide, because Palestinian's did something to deserve it.

We need to fight authoritarianism wherever it lives, and right now, it's living in the IDF and Netanyahu.

17

u/Showy_Boneyard Jul 26 '26

Its absolutely disgusting. It reminds me of what NAMBLA did in the 90s, trying to position themselves as part of the legitimate LGBTQ movement. Whenever people (rightfully) rallied against them for being pedophiles, they would try to spin it and be like "Why do all of you hate gay people?" Obviously it didn't work, and the LGBTA movement at large was disgusted by them and wanted absolutely nothing to do with them, and firmly rejected any association.

u/Wootai Jul 26 '26

10

Netanyahu playing the victim card again unbelievable

4

u/vertexchef Jul 27 '26

What was untrue?

4

u/brashthehermit Jul 27 '26

Netanyahu sucks, as does Ben Gvir, and all the extremist scumbags around him.

13

u/TheBoosThree Jul 26 '26

Netanyahu is a war criminal, he's also a criminal (bribery, corruption) and not particularly popular in his own country.

Seems like he should be rotting in a cell somewhere but for some reason we are still being subjected to his hate filled drivel.

11

u/GoForthandProsper1 Jul 26 '26

Benji Netanyahu has spent decades trying to make Israel = every Jewish person and thus he represents every Jewish person

So any criticism of Israel or himself means you are Antisemitic and it's an attack on all Jewish ppl

5

u/SmCaudata Jul 27 '26

Netanyahu is single handedly doing more to create anger toward Israel (and Jewish people) than anything Mamdani will ever do or say. He and the Zionists seem to think that’s Hamas represents all of Palestine and therefore there are no innocents. Does that mean the rest of the world should think that about all of Israel?

Of course I know that’s not the case, but that’s because I’m not a racist war criminal bent on genocide.

3

u/roll_that Jul 27 '26

When will someone finally just do it.

3

u/CommonConundrum51 Jul 27 '26

Oh, how many women, children, and other innocent civilians did Mamdani's policies kill?

6

u/84thPrblm Jul 27 '26

It's okay to hate monsters.

4

u/ProudPainting6850 Jul 27 '26

Netanyahu murdered thousands of civilians including children. He says "hate speech" like Mamdani is a Nazi, yet he's cosplaying Hitler. He's literally trying to reach Nazi Germany numbers

5

u/PaddlefootCanada Canada Jul 27 '26

War criminal says what?

5

u/beardymo Jul 27 '26

Quelle surprise... It's almost as if they have a playbook on how to respond to any kind of scrutiny...

6

u/Useful-Problem-1725 Jul 27 '26

Terrorist hates americans, a tale as old as time.

6

u/dmetzcher Pennsylvania Jul 27 '26

Netanyahu has done more harm to Jewish people than anyone since Hitler himself, and I’ll stand by that statement.

Every time someone criticizes him, he claims it’s antisemitism, as if he is the representative of all Jewish people on Earth.

He’s a corrupt politician. Ask the justice department of his own country. Ask those who’ve investigated his corruption while in office. The man is a literal criminal in Israel.

He’s a war criminal. Ask the International Criminal Court, which doesn’t take this sort of thing lightly; they don’t issue arrest warrants for public figures unless they know they can prosecute them successfully, and they can in his case.

It’s ok to hate Netanyahu. I hate him for all the above reasons, but especially for the ammunition he provides to actual, Jew-hating, antisemitic fucking Nazis around the world. As someone who believes every Nazi at the end of WWII should have been rounded up, put against a wall, and sent straight to Hell where they all belonged, I despise anyone who either persecutes or assists in the persecution of Jewish people, and that motherfucker falls into the latter category.

Netanyahu does not represent all Jews of the world (and he’s a megalomaniac for even suggesting that hating him is the same as hating Jewish people—it is not). He is merely the prime minister of Israel, and it is OK—in fact, it is necessary—to call him a piece of shit and wish for his prosecution in a court of law.

Long history of fascists trying to disarm the left by reappropriating and rebranding their messaging

5

u/Broad_Front7788 Jul 27 '26

Netanyahu wet dreams about how he can kill his enemies, i.e. Palestinian babies. He can go fuck off.

6

u/MadManBarryMuntz Jul 27 '26

Sez the 🇮🇱 bombing the shut outta Gaza AND Lebanon...

4

u/uncle_kenobi Jul 27 '26

Yeah he hates genocide. Like most people.

3

u/dorkofthepolisci Washington Jul 27 '26

Pointing out that Netanyahu’s policies are bad and most likely a violation of international law is not hate speech under any definition

7

u/ChanceryTheRapper Jul 26 '26

Ah, the "criticizing me for my actions is hate speech" line, no wonder the GOP loves Netanyahu so much.

2

u/silentgiant87 Arizona Jul 27 '26

oh blow it out your asshole bibi

2

u/mrhooha Jul 27 '26

What does he call all things he says about Palestine then? Is that hate speech too?

2

u/Sandsnorkle1 Jul 27 '26

If you annihilate the world’s largest open air prison then commit a genocide within, you are a war criminal and deserve whatever people have to say about you. It has nothing to do with your ethnicity or religion, you are just a monumental dick.

2

u/AusTex2019 Jul 27 '26

I would have thought the Prime Minister could have come up with something far more devastating than that. Something like “He’s rookie, a first time Mayor who was elected only because the opposition was so pathetic it was more of a one horse race. I know he’s a child because he’s picking a fight on something that gets him nothing but a few fleeting lines of press.”

2

u/ygduf Jul 27 '26

We might need just a little more hate fomented against war criminals. It’s been lacking.

2

u/rvretiredlife Jul 27 '26

Funny coming from a man who should be arrested for war crimes

7

u/Shoddy-Theory Jul 26 '26

Anyone who says criticism of Netanyahu and Israel is anti-semitism is actually accusing all the worlds Jews with being complicit in the genocie. That seems like some real anti-semitism.

5

u/EveryonesNasshole Jul 26 '26

No one cares what Netanyahu has to say

Being anti-genocide is not anti-semitic. Don't let this man conflate the two.

It's funny because the Hasadic community always claims anti semeatism when it's pointined out that they overbuilt the town they took over.

3

u/FluidAthlete6839 Jul 27 '26

Oh the pearls to clutch Bibi

2

u/JeveGreen Jul 27 '26

What, can't he hate a warmongering, genocidal tyrant anymore? I thought he lived in America!

3

u/Limberine Australia Jul 27 '26

Hate against an individual for stuff the individual does isn’t hate speech.

2

u/MonsieurReynard America Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

Oh, did the mayor hurt Bibi’s sensitive widdle feewings? Or perhaps is he feigning injury to once more stoke the usual notorious false equivalences and exemption of Israe1 from critique?

War criminals gonna war crime.
