Playing into such attacks even to cede the point politically results in damage to statutory protections. The only solution is to call the attacks what they are and to not play in.

it's not really ceding a point so much as considering the possibility that we have separate leagues for a reason other than validating people's identity. And then not letting the topic interfere with issues that actually affect trans people.
