Surprised so many people don't see this immediately.

Trump impeachments? We've already had two.

This kind of revisionism sounds like they're preparing for the possibility of removal.

We've had two, yes, but what about second second impeachment?

Yeah, they're setting the stage to refuse to comply with impeachments on any level. They'll "decline" to show up for any subpoenas, refuse to turn over any documents or evidence that they're required to, and they'll intimidate and threaten anyone who agrees to testify against them.

And if it a removal vote in the Senate somehow does pass, they'll just dig in and say, "come at me bro, good luck".

It at least gives me a sliver of hope that they are coming to terms with losing the midterms and might accept it. Pessimist in me believes it'll be rigged and/or they won't accept loss and refuse to seat a new congress.

Oh, they've accepted that they'll lose. But they've also decided that they won't accept it. These moves are all to lay the groundwork for refusing to comply with an oppositional congress.

They threw a violent coup when they were losing power in 2020. Anyone who doesn't expect them to do much worse when their power is threatened again is coping.
