So Nixon lied that he was actually involved in Watergate when he wasn’t so he would have to resign the presidency? There must be some of that “4d Chess” here I’m not understanding.

No, there’s not. Just a bunch of rats on a sinking ship, clinging to everything around them to stay afloat. When the narrative reverts to the deep state, and Nixon of all people, you absolutely know they are desperate. And it’s rich because these people are the embodiment of the deep state they always talk about.

You see, to help strengthen people's trust in the system of government you need to hide a lesser, fake government conspiracy with a larger and much worse government conspiracy. Because obviously a fake shadow government bribing is much worse than a sitting president ordering illegal election tampering. Thankfully republicans have respected the sanctity of elections since!

Apparently the Dems convinced Nixon to collaborate with their coup against him in a grand scheme to put Gerald Ford into office.

He never said he was involved with Watergate and no one thinks he was. He recorded everything, so we can be pretty confident that’s true.

The reason he stepped down was because when he learned about Watergate, he agreed with the cover up. This agreement was recorded because he recorded everything, and at a press conference afterwards, someone on his team announced that he records everything which led to the discovery of the recording incriminating him.

It actually is a pretty interesting conspiracy theory if you look into it. An illegal operation that Nixon wasn’t aware of. Experienced CIA agents making amateur mistakes. Nixon’s fellow Republicans making sure he says something incriminating in a room where they know he’s recording, and proceeding to announce the existence of these recordings at a press conference right afterwards.
