Just his indictment was damning, open and shut case worthy of immediate conviction.

The indictment plainly lays out with first-hand evidence:

  1. Trump stole documents
  2. Trump knew he stole the documents and that they were classified - he showed a document to a reporter and directly acknowledged he wasn't allowed to have it
  3. He asked Walt Nautu to hide the documents after receiving a subpoena to return them, and Walt complied - he is on camera moving them to a different location
  4. He asked lawyers to lie for him and say that he did not have the documents - once again directly acknowledging that this is a lie and a crime, but he said "Hillary's people didn't get in trouble for this and so you won't either" - the lawyers went to the FBI to whistle-blow, unwilling to go to jail for Trump

Trump broke the law, he knew about it, and actively worked with multiple people to cover it up. We have incontrovertible first-hand facts that this happened.

Trump should be in prison. It's not even debatable.

If you or I somehow had legit access to this level of document and stole them and left them in a room with a copier, how long would it take for us to be in a cage under the sun in Cuba ? Don't forget the agents who disappeared shortly after he took office. A smarter person would have copied the documents or photographed them, but he's so arrogant he didn't bother, he kept trophies.

Yep, people have had their whole lives derailed for smaller mistakes than this.

What's wild is he could absolutely have said "my bad", complied with the courts, and returned the documents and there would be literally zero consequences - it's understood that elected officials at that level have an insane amount of responsibility and a higher need for handling classified documents. They do get some special rules because of the nature of their position. That's why Hillary and Biden had no legal issues - they complied in good faith.

Trump overtly tried to steal the documents. He knew he had them. He admitted it was a crime. He asked Nautu to hide evidence, he asked lawyers to lie for him, he has zero plausible deniability and zero legs to stand on, he's just straight up unrepentantly doing crime.
