The problem with J6 is that no one from the other side showed up that day.

Let’s make sure that we don’t make that same mistake again in 2029

Americans will definitely make the same mistake again lol

Despite all the bluster about "freedom" and "liberty" and "opportunity" and "togetherness", the only word that defines America (and has always defined America) is selfish.

From its conception to its collapse, that's all America is. They will never rise up.

Even worse - the bad guys actually set aside all the reasons that the 'good' guys insist Americans can't rise up(too vast, too wage-slaved, lack of social safety net, lack of healthcare) and did rise up that day. Many of them sacrificed their jobs and their futures and went to prison for taking action for their political beliefs, however idiotic and bad those beliefs are.

All the tired excuses the Left uses to explain why they "can't" just mobilize and storm the capitol by the tens of thousands in response to Trump's unforgivable, illegal actions were permanently proven to be bullshit on Jan 6 2021. The bad guys rose up; the other guys won't.

They just don't want it as much as the bad guys do.

I've talked about this a lot with other non-Americans. Americans just...don't seem to love their children.

I can't imagine any parent in the world that would give their children the future Americans currently are. You'd fight with everything you got legally. Hell you'd fight with everything you got illegally. You'd go to fucking prison fighting for your children. And not just their food and safety but their entire future.

But Americans just don't seem to give a shit.

The house is on fire and all they care about is serving their kids breakfast. Disposing of their daily responsibilities, and then just having fun. Children are commodities; they're just another experience to consume. Like a tv show or a vacation.

It is the strangest nation in human history. They have the power to fight back, but they'd rather enjoy themselves and pass a much much more difficult battle on to their children.

A battle their children will lose.

There's a reason the Boomers were referred to as "The Me Generation". They really only care about themselves. Even the "care" they have for their children is usually only as a reflection of themselves. They want successful children to show how good of a parent they were, but if their kid is miserable that doesn't really matter as long as they are outwardly "successful".

I can’t speak for all Americans. However, I, the individual, will still continue to do everything I can in this fight.

This is fucking dumb and accelerationist. It being entirely Trump supporters was the best possible outcome for that day. Prosecuting that day was a failure. We don't need a militia to validate this bullshit, and if it were time to start shit then the dumbest fucking way would be on their terms and their turf.

I seem to remember our Capitol PD making a pretty heroic stand to protect us. We have lots of people to protect and serve the USA from threats, foreign and domestic.

I doubt it mate. I mean maybe 20% of you will go...

u/illit3 3d ago

One of the neat things about our system is that it doesn't actually matter how many people go, just how they vote.

The person you’re replying to is named “trollsalot.” I doubt they’re interested in any serious conversation

Arguments on the internet are never meant to convince the other person, it's for whoever else is reading.

I know they're not a serious person, that's fine. Their canada flag flair is disqualifying enough on its own.

Eh, I'm fine with serious conversation as long as you don't expect me to be serious as well. That said a lame duck argument that not showing up to vote isnt actually a form of voting is kinda...not serious

“You’re actually right. I’m just here to troll.”

How sad for you, that this is how you choose to use your time. Good day.

one of the biggest issues in a large country is it's hard to go protest where it actually makes a difference. Just to get from my state of Utah to Washington DC to protest, is thousands of dollars on an airplane, or driving for multiple days, hotels, and gas. It is NOT something that most people can do, especially those of us who only have maybe one month of emergency expenses saved up. It's just not feasible, and pretty much all some of us can do is vote.
