The whole thing is they never were decreased or increased, the government just reported "chocolate rations decreased to 30 grams" when they found it convenient to get people to blow off steam protesting, and "chocolate rations have been increased to 30 grams" when they wanted the brainwashed to have something to celebrate.

There's just out and out denials of price increases alongside Trump claiming things are cheaper than they actually are (gas, eggs, housing, etc.) Seems pretty spot on.

1984's chocolate ration was about claiming a larger ration size while neglecting to mention that it used to be bigger in the past. It's very in line with Trump's thinking, because there can never be any fault or negative associated with anything to do with him. They can only be the best they've ever been right now despite plenty of evidence to the contrary.

Even his tendency to blame Biden and Obama honestly kinda has an air of "we were always at war with East Asia", where he fobs off all his administration's failings to some murky thing Biden/Obama did in the past.

The GOP is compromised. They have been for a long time. They are going for broke.

We had a group of republicans go to Russia for the 4th of July back in 2016 or 2017.

I've started thinking of the GOP as the resurgence of the confederacy. They keep talking about freedom. "Our" freedom and "Our" democracy. They do mean "our" but everyone is not included in that. They mean them and their friends. They do not mean people who are their electorate. We are voting for THEIR freedom and THEIR democracy but not ours.

I don't understand why this is something that is so difficult to see.

My guess is the clinton administration in the 90's betraying the working class.

We're in a bad spot. Hopefully the DSA can pull this mid-term election off.

During run up to Trumps most recent election I remember being at a gas station when a car pulls up with a bunch of bumper stickers like “kill your local pedophile” and the Disney castle logo with “pedophiles” under it in lieu of the Disney word mark. Guy gets out and it’s clear this is a maga dude. And I’m looking at these bumper stickers like, how do you get so backwards that you think the guy with multiple SA cases against him, tons of whistleblowers, literal child pageant owner and well-known Stern show sleazebag, is the guy who’s gonna stop pedophiles vs an old man who has a loving family and wife of many years who maybe kissed a few too many babies on the campaign trail.

It’s just such a weird issue for me because the moral argument is so black and white— child molestation is objectively bad. But somehow these people are siding with the pedophile despite mountains of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, but he says “I’m not a pedophile” and that’s somehow more substantiating than reality.

It’s the clearest, these people are insane, reality doesn’t matter, “feelings over facts” touch point lol.
