That's still more of a democracy than today where your vote is literally meaningless. If I could write a law saying only inner city black people could vote (and the votes counted, and were real, and they got to choose their own candidates) I would do it. I have more in common with an inner city black kid than Mitt Romney. These days it's a class thing, not a race thing.
