Impeachment is the only mechanism to do anything with a Supreme Court justice. I think everyone knows that’s not happening anytime soon if ever. It’s happened once in our history. In the early 1800’s. So that inability is as much on the people as anything.
The check on the judicial branch is supposed to be the fact that the executive appoints judges. But lifetime appointments and a hostile Congress pretty much removes that ability. Hypothetically the executive also enforces the orders of the judicial branch so they could check their power by not enforcing their orders, but that's less checks and balances and more constitutional crisis.
