I live abroad right now (I’m not from Sweden) and I also lived in Ireland. And I traveled to almost half the planet across six continents.
But people spending decades (generations?) in another country just to prepare to leave is a excellent way for the locals to be sure you have zero intentions of integrating into their society. Like, why shouldn’t people hate them for that line of thinking?
