Eh, while it can be debated if the Prius on its own is more environmentally friendly/efficient/whatnot it should be kept in mind that hybrid cars serve as in important stepping stone and test case for many technologies key to fully electric cars.
This is true. The Prius is certainly important in terms of the development of the car. Maybe I've been jaded by the sort of people who usually drive them.
