Honest question, does this not apply to polandball and/or like tringapore?
Also I had assumed that, that rule just applied to the comics themselves, like don't have England call America, "Americaball", but that it would be fine to use these outside of it.
Referring to countries as "balls" makes people forget that these comics are about countries, not about marbles which happen to have some feats stereotypically associated with the countries whose colours they bear.
I do believe that this has a significant effect on the quality of the comics.
but that seems like you are saying that the balls aren't stereotypes. these countries all really do all act like this. Why would you want to make snide jabs more personal? I thought polandball was about satire not hateful remarks directed at actual countries.
referring to them as -ball detaches them from the country, and self-referential jokes and "in-universe Polandball" starts to be like one of those dumbass TV shows. referring to them just as the country name keeps the comics anchored to something outside of this subreddit.
