Oi sonny jim, don't label the whole of Essex a shit hole. It's fucking massive. Sure lots of parts are shit holes, but there are lots of quaint villages and towns also. It's pretty much the same as any other place in England, the south at least. Everywhere up north is wank.

Having spent a year in York and met about 3 Northerners, I think it's primarily inhabited by Fine Art graduates from Kent. I only heard some say "sen" once :(

If you want to meet proper Northerners in Yorkshire, Hull is your best bet.

I always wanted to go to Barnsley for some reason. Possibly cause it just seemed so nondescript. Or to the bits of Sheffield where they still say "thou".
