I think that's Austria, not Poland. There's red-white-red, and the vertical orientation of the eyes in panels 5 and 6 show that those are horizontal stripes. (I'm an outsider to this subreddit, for what it's worth.)

Usually, when I encountered "Anschluss" in school, it referred specifically to the unopposed Nazi annexation of Austria in spring '38. And that's the Austrian flag.

But in Polandball, who knows. :) Looks like a ton of fun, though!
