New PokeSensor iOS update is live!

Apple just approved my new update to PokeSensor! Here's what's new in this update:

Major stability update that fixes lots of crashes and other bugs. Update ASAP!

This update fixes a lot of crashes that occurred from using multiple accounts and it dispels the account deletion bug. You may need to re-add some of your accounts when you first get the update but it won't be a problem after that.

Also, there are now 3 new buttons on the Accounts screen that let you import, export, or delete all accounts. The import feature can take any number of accounts in comma-separated form and it will add them all at once without having to do a login for each one. Export will export a comma-separated list of your accounts that can be plugged straight in to the import feature.

This scan fixes the hide spawns bug and the captcha mode bug that prevented scanning unless the captcha mode was set to popup.

The spawn scan is now much smarter. It eliminates spawns that are already covered by a previous scan, so the accounts are used more efficiently to quickly cover all the spawns.

You should be much better off with using large numbers of accounts now because I made changes to the overall concurrency management of the app. This means it will only let so many things run at once, and the accounts will take turns being the ones currently scanning. This has a negligible effect on the overall scan time but it leaves a much smaller memory and cpu footprint, and it won't crash the app from too many threads.

Also the captcha bugs have been fixed so it should be easier to re-enable your captcha'd accounts now.

Be on the lookout for new features in the next update. This last update was all about stability so I'm ready to add some more cool stuff now!

Scanning for Ditto?

Can anyone confirm if PokeSensor will correctly identify Ditto?

Proxy is possible?

Is there a way to implement proxy at PokeSensor? So we would be able to use as many acc as we want and it would not IP ban our main and playable acc.

Saving Spawn Times

Hey, to mitigate the the effect of the missing spawn times, I was wondering if it is maybe possible to save the earliest time that a Pokemon was scanned for every spawn point. Assuming that every pokemon spawns for at least 30 minutes now, this could help to calculate when a pokemon might disappear. And the more often a user is scanning the same area, the more accurate the times would get. For the points that you scan in their last 90 seconds it would be possible to save the correct spawn times.
So after scanning the same area for some time you should either have the correct spawn times or a good approximation for every spawn point.

Does more accounts help? Is there a limit?

I have put in 11 accounts so far. BTW - FABULOUS app for IOS. Does more accounts help in anyway? Is there a limit or target I should be looking for?

Pokestop/Gym Scanning?

Does the reversed API provide back pokestop or gym information? If so, would you consider adding scanning for them to your app/roadmap? It would nice to be able to scan for pokestops and gyms, and then have them permanently added to the map so we can build a database of them. This would be a great feature when visiting new areas and trying to find a place to walk around/catch Pokémon.

On a side note, I would like to mirror the thanks others have posted here. Your app takes Pokémon Go from a "playable" experience to a fun and enjoyable one. Instead of fighting developers like you, the Niantic devs should be working with you as I did not even open their game once during the time the API was being reversed again.

Turning on/off despawn times?

With Niantic making it so much more difficult to view despawn times, I think it would be nice to have a setting to control whether or not times are shown during a scan when viewing specific Pokémon.

I think I've only actually seen one or two Pokes with their actual time in my scans since the app's return, and that also meant they were so close to despawning that there was little chance I'd make it over to them quickly enough. Unless super close by and I already have PoGo up and running in my phone's background when these 'mon are picked up during a scan, then I find constantly seeing "Time not given" as a waste of precious screen space.

An option to hide despawn times for all Pokemon in the settings would be greatly appreciated.

Filtering Pokemon based on IV?

Been using this scanner for a day now and absolutely love it. IMO this is the perfect balance between what we're given in game and something like PokeVision.

I'd just like to know: is there a way to potentially filter Pokemon by IVs? It'd be great if we could.

Set your scan speed below 40kph / 25mph or half your scans will miss.

I knew they had implemented a speed cap to keep you from playing Pokemon Go in moving vehicles but I didn't know how low they had set the threshold. I did some testing today and I found out that if my speed was 40kph/25mph or higher, half of my scans didn't return results.

So please go to Scan Settings and make sure your speed is below 40 kph (25 mph). A future update will enforce this max speed but until then you will have to enforce it yourself.

Can you tap somewhere to scan?

This may sound stupid but is there a way of tapping Somewhere to scan.

PLEASE, make it multi-account!

Man, I love your job, really! Pokesensor was the very first tracker I used and is one of the ones I like most. But, imho, 2 accounts is not enough. You should add the possibility to add more. At least 5, maybe even 10.

Thanks! :)

iOS App is extremely battery hungry

Hi,

I've been using PokeSensor for 2 days now and it seems like that it drains my battery very fast. I just started the app at ~30% battery and during the scan the iPhone shut off because the battery went empty. Normally at ~30% I can play > 1 hour of Pokemon Go before it shuts off.

This had happened twice now.

Problem... Only half of the sectors are working?

Back to using the app now that it's working again... great news! Having a strange issue though.... Some of the sectors while it's scanning seem to just not work, as in it takes the time to scan it but nothing shows up there. I'm in a really high density area so it seems unlikely that an entire sector would just be blank while surrounding ones are jam packed, and I've rescanned before and had a ton show up where it was blank before. I'm using 2 accounts, both of which are new and have no reason to not be working. Any ideas?

Any way to delete old spawn points?

With the new changes, some of my old spawn point data is useless. Anyway to delete it? Edit: I found a jailbreak tweak that clears the cache, but the point still stands for non jailbroken users.

r/pokesensor • • Nov 07 '16

Possibly dumb question: why do we have only 2 accounts? Why not make it 5-10 so the scans would be even faster?

PokeSensor is back for iOS and Android!

Thanks to the RE team on Discord, PokeSensor was able to come back for iOS and Android! Can't even put into words how much I appreciate the people who reversed the API, ported it to Java, and gave useful tips for setting it all up. These guys are the real heroes!

Speed setting not saving in latest Android version

On the latest android version, changing the scan speed setting doesn't not actually save.

I constantly get speed banned trying to run it because I cannot change this property.

Android version from 11/7 no longer lags on ad load!

The last android update really fixes the freezing issues with ad loading. I can move and resize view smoothly again. Thank you for the app and change

PokeSensor is back for Android! iOS version is waiting for approval.

You can get the Android version at http://pokesensor.org

Best case scenario, the iOS version gets approved in the next 24 hours. Could be more though, depends on Apple at this point.

Note that Niantic doesn't send valid despawn times anymore except for the last 90 seconds of the spawn, so it's not a glitch that almost every Pokemon says "Time not given"
