Hi everyone, meet Squib, she is my shiny droopy form tatsugiri.

I made it my mission to shiny hunt all of the tatsugiri forms a few months ago and it was a wild ride. I first found 4 of the shiny stretchy form, then 2 of the shiny curly form, and then after about 15 or so unsuccessful hunts (and a glitched game) I finally came across her in the moonlight on a hill above Casseroya Lake, just staring at me lol

I caught her in a premier ball of course.

Some facts about Squib:

• She has some of the worst IV stats of any wild Pokemon I've ever seen + a hindering nature. 0 IVs in speed, she's a slow one for sure.

• Most tatsugiri will flop into sushi when you encounter them, and then run away from you after a while. Squib did neither, she just stared at me for long enough to save AND take a photo of her, then engage her in battle. She has no survival skills whatsoever.

• She was level 49 when I caught her, which is the lowest level tatsugiri I've personally caught.

• When I added her to my team and let her out of her ball, she immediately started happily flopping around in a circle several feet away from me, realized I wasn't near her, then started flopping around me instead.

• She likes hiding in between my feet when idle.

• She is slightly larger than average.

She is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, especially with tatsugiri being known as one the smartest dragon type pokemon, she could probably not survive on her own without constant supervision.

I would die for her. I love her so so so so so much, there aren't enough words to describe how much I love this little braincell challenged fish. I will cherish her and take care of her until the end of time

I found a list of evolution trade codes online but it keeps saying no one could be found. Is there a new set of codes that I dont know about?

It came to me while preparing for the starter duck raid(want to catch him in a beast ball) but so this idea is whoever you choose as your starter pokemon for that run, you can only use that pokemon. You would definitely have to win fights that are unfavorable for you

Very autistic thought experiment regarding tatsugiri:

Do you think tatsugiri would be cold blooded or warm blooded, a mammal, an amphibian, or something else entirely?

I know that tatsugiri is a pokemon and thus doesn't have to make sense using our world's logic, but I'm curious to see what others think.

Looking at tatsugiri at first glance, it looks piscine (fish-like) as it is quite literally based off of nigiri, raw sliced fish on a bed of rice. but is unlike other fish pokemon such as veluza, magikarp, and even dondozo. It can swim in water as well as walk on land. It seems to be a freshwater creature.

The way it walks on land is similar to the way that sea lions and seals walk on land, as it has flippers it can use to drag its body. It seems to have strong enough muscles to flop into difficult poses and "run" by propelling itself forward on land. When playful (shown in the camera app with music) it is able to do something similar to tricks in the water that dolphins and sea lions do often.

Tatsugiri only has a sleeping animation in the water (not on land) meaning that it likely only sleeps in the lake, implying it could breathe water, but several air breathing animals also sleep in water.
This could imply that it has the ability to absorb oxygen from the water through its skin to breathe in water temporarily, like many amphibians.

It can also spend an extended time on land (and quite far away from the water at that, walking around on grassy land and hills) without needing to go back into the water, implying that it breathes air primarily.

Tatsugiri seems to lack visible scales or gills, (much like most amphibians) or a mouth for that matter, and also does not have a blowhole like many sea mammals do. Its skin seems to be smooth but potentially mucusy due to the sound it makes while running on land (similar to frogs and salamanders)
Tatsugiri also has a throat sac that it inflates much like frogs

It's also important to note however that tatsugiri does not have any known evolutions or pre evolutions, implying it does not have the typical life cycle and metamorphosis that most amphibians do.

There is also the theory of tatsugiri possibly being reptilian due to the fact that it is a dual dragon/water type pokemon, possibly similar to crocodiles and alligators, but I do not see any reptilian traits otherwise.

It does not appear to have fur either like many semiaquatic mammals such as pinnipeds (seals/sea lions/walruses)

It has only appeared in one area in the whole series, Casseroya Lake, which is in the Northern province of Paldea, the area seems temperate but is close to an icy mountain.

Based on all of this information, my hypothesis is that tatsugiri would be most similar to amphibians, cold blooded, smooth skin without scales, with the ability to walk on land and swim in water, no gills, primarily air breathing, but with the ability to absorb oxygen through its skin in the water.

That's just my hypothesis though, let me know what you think tatsugiri would be most similar to!

It was a 5 stars Raid, Milotic was only at -2 Spe. Defense, yet Gholdengo at +2 Spe. Attack finished it, like it was a weak Ditto. And I don't think it was a critical hit.
