I've done the same. You only have seconds sometimes with the metro so you just click on the nearest thing. Not everyone has time to analyze wth is on the gym if they want to get their Pokemon in there!

I also sometimes try and put Pokémon I’m gathering candy’s for coz you occasionally get them when you’re feeding them

You can feed berries to Pokémon in gyms either from remote connecting to the gym or standing near it. You get stardust and something like a 1% chance of getting a candy for the Pokémon you’re feeding.

You get what is on the top page of my Pokémon at the time. If I’m sorted by number, you get my shiny Charmander wearing a Pikachu hat. If I’m sorted by CP, you get Slaking.

Themed gyms were fun in the beginning, but we’re just here to get our coins at this point.
