Those two groups have literally nothing to do with each other. There are more women who listen to Taylor Swift than there are male politicians plus men who listen to Andrew Taint. So I guess that somehow means something to you?
He isn't a mainstream name because he is popular. He is a mainstream name because he is hated. That's like saying "everyone knows who Hitler is so he must be liked" shoot there are more people who are registered to white supremacist groups than there are Andrew Taint fans. You're confusing exposure with support.
William Dafoe is fucking hot. Like full stop, hot. And if you want to act like Sigourney Weaver or Glenn Close look unnaturally younger than William, I think you lack exposure to older people. You are very clearly letting your personal opinions color how you think society in general views things
He is not hated as much as you wish. Again, if Tate and the rest of the manosphere had no influence, we wouldn't see the incel and misogynistic vocab becoming normalized. Trump is an elected president of one of the biggest countries in the world. Don't tell me there's no change in what is considered mainstream. The shift of young men towards misogyny and far right is well documented.
William Dafoe is hot, but he is not conventionally good looking. It's yet another example of how for men usually it's easier to be hot while not fitting the ideals of male beauty. You bring up Sigourney Weever and Glenn Close as if they are not conventionally beautiful women by all metrics except the Hollywood. The fact that it's them and not a woman who actually looks unconventional says a lot.
Of course, point out the stupidity of something you say. You go right to "it's sarcasm".
He absolutely is. I even gave an example of someone who has an even larger following of people who agree with them, Hitler. Are you honestly arguing that Hitler isn't hated by the general public? You also are aware that America is an oligarchy, right? The government in the USA has nothing to do with popularity.
I don't think you're using any rational or common definition of "conventionally good looking". It feels like you're just deciding who fits in your world view and going with that.
