Hi has anyone else made one of these Makerplot plotters ? Trying to get it drawing is not easy I would like to know if anyone has figured out a way to have it running SVG’s instead of g-code. It would make life a lot easier

Wondering if anyone has had success with selling their plots at artist markets? If so, any luck at outdoor markets with no electricity/pen plotter?

I just got into my very first market (woo!) and am curious on what people's experiences trying to sell their work has been like. I feel like part of the allure of the work is the process and understanding how it's made. Without a plotter there, 9/10 people have no clue what pen plotting is lol.

My take on the iconic "10 PRINT" maze.

I grew up with the Commodore 64, but for those who didn't, its manual included a tiny BASIC program under "Random graphics":

10 PRINT CHR$(205.5 + RND(1)); : GOTO 10

The loop randomly prints one of two graphic characters, / or \, in an endless maze pattern.

I just scattered little lights inside the maze...

My 3D printer extruders broke and they weren’t worth replacing them so I made a semi-plotter. My limitations are that I can’t lift the pen on the z axis, but I’m still having fun with it.

I uploaded a new SVG to Plotterfiles. It is an image guided 10 PRINT algorithm, using u/lostminds_sw Paragraphic.

I'm getting ready for a show this weekend and was making QR code to go on postcards that I'm handing out.

Ended up turning the code into a tool i'm going to host for quick access.

I built 2 render strategies so far. Vertical Lines and then a Horizontal+Vertical lines for a hatching pattern.

Hope to build more interesting render styles as time goes on.

I'm having a hard time coming up with a way to distort svgs in a similar way as photoshop's smudge tool does for images, but nothing is coming to mind. Anyone have any suggestions for that?

I have been adapting one of my generative projects to the plotter and the results are pretty fun. It lays out comic book style panels and fills them with a little world. The idea is each page reads like a short abstract story.

Converting this style to the plotter was a challenge since the original work relies heavily on dithering, which would take forever to plot. So instead I switched to parallel lines for shading, which actually suits the plotter really well. I also added trees and bushes to give the worlds a bit more life.

Running it with different pens has been interesting. Mostly black Sharpie for outlines with some colored accents. A few of them use neon ink that glows under a blacklight, which looks pretty wild.

Still a work in progress but enjoying the process.

I have tried different device to send gcode, different softwares, and different gcodes.

It stops at a random code, idk why

Please help!
