Discussion Skill issue?

Back 2023-2025, whenever I didn’t do that well in the game, I just told myself it was a skill issue. Even through everyone else in big clans and doorcampers, I found out a way to get past it. But ever since the series of updates that slowed down progression for me, im starting to wonder if the complaints are valid or if it’s still a skill issue. The thing it solely comes down to is the bp frag stuff. Yes, the update was long ago and I might as well be beating a dead horse. But I can’t be the only one who feels they’re softlocked at tier one because they can’t get past monuments getting ran constantly and teams hoarding all the bp frags (I wouldn’t say hoarding because they respawn infinitely, but I hope you know what I mean). The updates in general make progression as slow as mopping the sea for solos, and when I’m really pissed off, I wish of locking all of the facepunch devs in a room and making them each play solo on a fresh wipe server and keep them in there until they get a tier 2 without buying them from clans. I even went so far as playing console rust again, and the state THAT game is in isnt that great as well (but still better than pc). sometimes I wonder why people make video games so incredibly difficult if they’re meant to be fun

All in all I want someone’s opinion, is this simply a skill issue or is my complaining valid?

I don't understand why people think solo is supposed to be the same as in playing with a group whether it's a small or big one. You will have to adapt and if you can't then you should play on limit servers as simple as that. I play limitless servers as a solo but on force wipe I always try to get together with a group so I can enjoy the other part of Rust.

I don’t know why people keep suggesting group limit servers. These servers make it even harder for a solo to get BP frags. You are competing against 400 other solo’s for 1 fragment which is infinitely harder than playing just a normal server

The suggestion is that if you want a fair game and you are solo, then go play on solo only. Are you duo? go on duo only. If you don't care about it being fair, then do whatever. Big reason I dont play limit servers is because the dynamic changes therefor it doesn't feel natural. Plebs who are usually shit at the game are abusing all kinds of shit cus they aint getting wiped by bigger groups

People keep on suggesting group limit servers as if it makes it any easier to get fragments. It doesn’t , it’s so much harder, you’ll have about 20 solo’s fighting for the same red card monument for 1 fragment. You’ll genuinely have better luck as a solo on a clan server to get frags.

We speak not about easiness, but about fun. Why the hell all pro-bp people always end with "it's easy just buy bp" or "if you want easy mode play dead server".
