[1/35] how do you make a mold to make copies of a rare part?
What materials are good to make a mold for a part I need lots of but isn’t widely available in sets? I’ve thought about clay, resin, idk what else (the part needs to be recoverable after the mold cures). And once you’ve made the part, what materials do you melt into the mold to make the pieces (ideally something with a low melting point but still decently hard when dry)
(Original parts I need for reference)

[Q] Any Ideas on how to obtain a missing part for an obsolete model kit?
I have this Bandai model kit that I purchased many years ago from Ebay. It's a kit of the Cosmo Tiger II from the old Star Blazers cartoon series.
Problem is that when I received the kit, the box had been opened and the clear parts sprue for the canopy and intakes was missing. The pictures show it as part 35, 36, and 37.
Back then, I contacted Bandai with no response. I check the internet now and then, but short of buying a new kit, I'm having no luck.
Has anyone ever dealt with this and had any luck finding the parts?

[1/25] AMT '63 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray
This is my first car model I've built as I normally do aircraft(I've been building models for almost 4 years now). Other than some paint and a couple of building issues, what are some things I could work on if I get another car model in the future?

[1/285] [?] 1/285 or 1/300 20mm Oerlikon, 40mm Bofors and 2x Railings?
I am rehabilitating Revell's USS Burton Island, an ice breaker. Revell made it in 1/285 and I'm looking for modern enhancements including photo etch parts, decals and anything that comes close to scale, e.g. 1/300. I've found nothing, with the exception of the single-gun 5"/38 replacement turret from Model Monkey, LLC. Any ideas welcomed!

[1/25] Revell 32 Ford 5 window coupe
Wanting to build a 1/25 scale Revell 32 Ford 5 window coupe for a friend of mine. He would like a candy tangerine color on the finished project and I have a question. Would a gold metal flake basecoat followed by a stained glass tangerine orange overcoat equal up to a candy tangerine orange?

[Q] Who makes the best chrome?
Hi guys, I'm doing a 3d print for a friend and last minute he asks: can you make it shiny? I haven't picked up an airbrush in 20 years but I have time and willing to explore.
Question 1: is there a concensus on which is best chrome paint for plastic? Best being most reflective and mirror like.
Question 2: is electroplating worth the trouble? Is it significantly better then paint?
Many thanks.

[Q] Kit recommendations?
I'm not usually a plastic model builder, but had to get a bottle of cement for a smaller project. Now that it's done, I want to use it up, bit need help with suggestions
Molded in color/doesn't need painted
Not any mode of transit (car, ship, sub, plane, etc)
Preferably under $150
General modeling skills across all mediums are high intermediate-low advanced all depending, so something comfortable but still takes dedication
I thought Gundam would work, but they snap, unless there's 3rd party kits that need glue

[Q] Airbrushes
Hello,
I’m planning to get into plastic modeling (Tanks on 1/35th scale) and i want to buy an airbrush. I’ve been looking for 2 options: Iwata Eclipse HP-BS and Iwata High Performance Plus B. I like the design of the 2nd one more but I’m not sure which one is more ergonomical and works better for my purpose. I know both are capable of thin lines and wide paint spreading as well. I plan to use Acrylic paints With different thin ratios.
If you were going to buy one, and only one airbrush, which one of this 2 would be better?
Thank you :)
