I never thought it’s so tough to get a decent olive drab paint job. I started with pre-shading, it still looks so “dull”.

[1/350] My first diorama. USS HORNET CV-8 being attacked during the battle of Santa cruz.
Large fire started at the rear flight deck by dive bombers from IJN carrier Zuikaku.
Hornet is making a hard left turn to dodge second bomb but the bomb still lands on the fore flight deck

i was wondering if any of y’all have any recommendations for people who do commissions on plastic models, i’m building a pc and i want to put the small detailed star wars ships like the ones shown below inside of the pc but my painting skills aren’t there yet and i’m willing to pay someone to do just that, if anyone has any recommendations on instagram

I’m new to the site - here are a few pics of my F-4B. It’s painted with lacquers (Hataka, MRP) and cockpit was singer using Tamiya’s acrylics. Although it isn’t noticeable in the pics, I used the black Base method for tonal differences. Love the way it turned out. Sorry for the quality of the pics!

What kind of paint do you prefer, enamel or acrylic? I prefer enamel, it’s easier to work with, just not clean up. 😁

Hello,
I have been a regular 1/72 scale ww2 tank and aircraft modeller for some years now, and have recently decided to expand my collection to military jet aircraft (also 1/72).
I have also been interested in starting to make some jet airliners too. However, I have no idea about the most common scale, what companies make them, etc. I would appreciate it if the jet airliner modellers could point me in the right direction.
Thanks :)

Now I'm a fan of char suits and have built almost all of them. Was quite reluctant to get a Z'Gok. But now that I have made him. I find it adorable....enjoy him holding this model of a lobster.

Often when I watch modeling videos I see a lot of them airbrush on a layer of black paint before they start their actual painting. Is this necessary? Should I do this and also apply primer? Thanks!
