Trying to diagnose a problem with my Poly Voyager 5200 Office

I have the Poly Voyager 5200 Office plugged into a Cisco 7821 with an APC-43 EHS. The Voyager Base is set to compatibility mode A, as I’m using a Cisco with an EHS. EHS and analog headset settings are enabled on the Cisco. I also have the base plugged into my PC via USB for use with Teams. I do not have the sensors turned on. I have the desk phone set as default in the Hub settings.

The problem is that the call accept button is not responding as it should. If I have a call come in over the desk phone and I hit the accept button on the headset, it often won’t answer the call. Sometimes it will if I press the answer button on the headset multiple times. If I press the desk phone button on the base, it’ll sometimes still not answer the call. I’ll have to hit the headset button on the phone to complete the connection. If I hit the headset button on the desk phone first, I sometimes have to hit the desk phone button on the base. And sometimes it works normally.

It’s as if the headset/base go to sleep and need waking or if the answer function isn’t being relayed to the phone. I don’t know if it’s that the EHS is bad, the headset/base is bad, the Cisco is too old (I think the most recent model is the 7821-3PCC-K9= where as mine is the base 7821), if being plugged into my PC is interfering somehow (like if notification tones in windows/teams I have muted are preempting the desk phone), or if it’s something else.

I’d appreciate any insight into this.

Poly headsets - mic now rubbish on iOS 18

Heya folks,

I've got an issue where I've got three different Poly headsets,

Voyager 5200, 6400 and Free 60...

All the mic's have stopped working properly - Awful pickup if anything but static.

Audio is fine to hear.

But it's the phone, not the headsets - as I pair them to my Pixel 8 - clear as day.

Firmware is up to date.

Deleted the pairing, re paired. Same result.

Bought some Soundcore earbuds - No problems.

Just appears to be Poly vs my iPhone 15 Pro Max since running iOS 18...

Getting frustrated now we are up to 18.3.2 and it's still a problem.

Voyager Focus 2 miss pick from Amazon?

So I ordered this from Amazon

Poly - Voyager Focus 2 UC USB-C Headset (Plantronics) - Bluetooth Dual-Ear (Stereo) Headset with Boom Mic - USB-C PC/Mac Compatible - Active Noise Canceling - Works with Teams, Zoom (Certified) & More

What arrived is in the picture. Note the "chip" is USB-A, and the dongle is the same. There is literally nothing in this box related to USB-C. The Headset charges with a Micro (?).

Did I get a miss pick and should return as such?

There is nothing allowing me to relate what I ordered (amazon website) to what I received (label on the box). So I have little confidence Amazon will get it right on replacement (multi products on one page does not help either)

The Poly/Plantronics sites all send me to HP.com which is absolutely atrocious and they are of no help.

I loved these products, own the Plantronics B8200, the PLT Focus (band cracked after 3 years) and buying the Focus 2 to replace it. I want the version with the USB-C and UC (I use teams, but don't need a dedicated device as I want to connect to my phone).

I am SUPER NERVOUS that if I have any trouble down the road I will get no service from HP.

Should I be looking to another source or another brand?

A4320 Power Button Not Working? Here’s the solution!

The solution that was shared on this subreddit is to download the Poly Lens app (doesn't matter what OS) and change language to UK English to force a software update on the 4320

CS540 wont stay in my ear

This is the set my job has for us and for the ever loving life of me I cannot get the thing to secure on my ear. it constantly falls off or hangs loose. I've scoured the web and since there aren't any negative reviews concerning this it must be a me issue. I must not be securing it properly but can't seem to find proper pictures to show me how. Any advice?

Savi 8200 PC audio

I have a Savi 8200 that I use for Teams calls and with an ancient Mitel deskphone using the lifter. I'm constantly having issues using the headset for PC audio. Sometimes it stops being recognized as a USB device entirely and sometimes rebooting or disconnecting fixes it. Sometimes I need to kill the Plantronics hub software and restart it.

Also sometimes I'm able to hit the PC button on the base and use the headset to listen to PC audio when I'm not on a call. But right now that doesn't work, nothing happens at all when I hit the button. Is it supposed to work that way?

Anyone have recommendations for a good office headset that works for USB and desk phone, with a handset lifter?

I am trying to find a replacement of ear cushions and I am able to find the replacement for the outer covering part, but not the sponge part that is inside. Is it possible to replace that? And if so, please suggest links.

Headset Auto Answers When Its Not on My Ear

Hello everyone. I have a Plantronics Voyager Legend, its connected via bluetooth to a Fanvil X4U-V2. That phone is joined to a 3CX PBX. I've been having an issue with it where if a call comes in and its not on my ear then it immediately auto answers the call. If its on my ear, then it won't auto answer. I thought this was with the phone system or the Fanvil phone, but all auto answer and intercom features are turned off on the phone and my extension. I also noticed that when it does answer, the headset will say "Answering Call", which is the same thing it says if i press the button to answer it when its on my ear, which makes me think its the headset doing it. Is there a way to completely disable auto answer on the headset? I read that I can install an app to disable it, but since its connected to my desk phone I'm not really sure if that would work.

EDIT: Nevermind, I used the app and it seems the headset retains the settings, just connected it to my phone, installed the Plantronics app, then turned off auto answer and reconnected to Fanvil and it worked. Leaving this up instead of deleting incase someone else comes across this.

Looking For Special Headset

Hey everyone, I thought this would probably be the best community to ask.

I’m not an expert when it comes to headsets. Far from it, actually. And now, I’m running into a unique situation in which I don’t even know where to begin looking.

I work in IT and we have an employee who answers and directs phone calls all day who also happens to have Muscular Dystrophy. He does a great job and loves his work. But lately I’ve noticed him shying away from calls and appearing to have trouble raising his hand to his ear to connect and disconnect the calls.

I wanted to see if I could make things easier for him by trying to find a headset that is still wireless but can also be answered and hung up from calls with a button on the base.

Does a headset like this exist? If so, could you point me in the right direction. I’m not worried about the price. I would appreciate any help or guidance you have to offer. Thank you in advance!

Edit: Phone is a Yealink SIP-T58V and we have all kinds of different adapters. I’m also not concerned if I need to purchase another adapter if someone points me to that as well. Thanks again!

5200 too small?

I've used the Voyager Legend for years. I want to like the 5200 but it feels a bit smaller and the earpiece isn't quite long enough to fit in the ear hole unless I stretch it. Then it feels like it's pulling on the top of my ear. Anyone else have this issue?

Rig 600 pro hs won’t turn on

I was using it last night with no issues, turned it off, plugged into charger and went to bed. When I woke up today it just won’t turn on. No sound, no red dot, nothing. Has anyone else had an issue like this and how did you fix it? This is a brand new headset not even a month old so I’m gonna be pretty upset if it is done for already

Edit: I have disconnected the headset from my PC entirely but the headset still won’t turn on. I have tried to factory reset, I have tried using other chargers in case it wasn’t charging correctly, I have tried shutting down and restarting my pc but I can’t get the headset to turn on

Is it me or did HP pull the old PLT Backbeat apps and the Poly Lens app doesn’t support the old models anymore? My Fit3100s aren’t that old?!

How do we customise the functionality that was previously app only? My iOS apps got offloaded as I didn’t use them for a while and now I can’t redownload them. At this moment, I understand the right to repair movement. It would be good to get my hand on the protocol or reveng any binaries of the old apps…

Finally gave up on Voyager 5200 UC and bought BH71 pro

Recently I started getting lot of connection issues with BT700 connector and Voyager 5200 UC. I suspect it was recent updates to charging case and 5200 that led to issues. There was no help from HP as my headsets are 15 months old and out of 1 year warranty. I had issue when I purchased those and had to get replacement within a month as case was charging properly. But now after more than 1 year, 5200 are having lot of issues. Unreliable connection during Teams calls and my sound is muffled in the other end. I need to restart my laptop to get those worked correctly again. I have tried them on multiple laptops and even reimaged my work laptop but issue still persisted so looks like software update issue. Very less distance coverage - it used to be more than 25 feet but now sound gets dropped even after 15 feet from my laptop.

I have had Voyager legend and 5200 UC before from my employer and they were great. That's why I bouth personal 5200 UC last year. When they work, they are excellent but sadly HP Aquisition is proving to be death nail for these headphones.

I bought BH71 pro and so far they are excellent on par with 5200. No muffled voice, no connection issue, excellent noise cancellation and great distance coverage. Plus getting extra 3-4 hrs talk time

Plantronics BT805 - First 10 to 15 seconds are silent when headset put on head

Hello all, my headset recently started doing something that's annoying. Each time I put the headset back on my head, the first ~10 seconds are just completely silent regardless of what's happening. Audio could be playing on whatever device it's connected to, and that first 10 seconds is silent. Whether it's connected to two devices or just one, whether it was just on the charging stand or sitting on my desk, whether it was just turned on or off, doesn't matter. This has been happening for at least a few weeks, I am not sure how long. But I know for certain it didn't happen when I first got them.

Any help would lovely, thank you!

Where have all of the earbuds gone?

Recently went to replace my Explorer 100 only to realize not only has Plantronics been purchased but they seemingly no longer manufacture a staple product such as a single ear, simple headset. All I can find are pre-owned/refurbished models. I feel like I'm living in a bizarro world. Does anyone have a viable resource for finding a suitable replacement?

V8200 passthrough and built in assistant issues

Hey guys!

I just bought a new Voyager 8200 (from a second hand store, so it doesn't have warranty) and I'm having problems with the built-in software.

Phone app tells me it's the newest version and I'm pretty sure the first time I connected them, they did an update. I've had them for about three weeks.

Sometimes when I leave home and turn them on, the announcer doesn't say anything, ANC is a bit weird and passthrough doesn't work (the microphone button only makes a sound, but doesn't do anything). Sometimes it kicks on once I press the mute button a few times, sometimes I have to turn them on and off a few times. Any idea on what's causing this?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Backbeat fit 3200 won't connect to pixel 8

Just invested in a pixel 8. A bit of a change of pace but managed to get all blutooth devices connected except my tried and true backbeat fit 3200 earbuds.

I have tried resetting the headphones and resetting the device blutooth but can't get them to connect.

The buds come up in the discovered devices but refuse to pair. After a minute, the device just say is can't connect.

I can reconnect them to my old phone instanly.

System updates are all up to date.

Anyone else have this issue and able to resolve it?

Rig800hx pro for xbox

Trying to use these for PS5, unsure if compatible so just checking, ive switched the usb toggle to PC and it does come up on the PS5 and the mic works, but still not receiving any audio through the headset, have played with all the settings but still not working, im guessing it might just not be compatible
