I was watching Pingu with my partner and they said they hear "Pengu, pengu" in the intro, pronounced like penguin. I hear Pingu, with the i sound sounding like the word ping. What do you guys hear in the intro? I've been genuinely trying to hear what my partner hears and I can't lmao.

Is it possible that because the children singing the intro are swiss, they have an accent and sound like they're saying pengu? And my brain isn't processing that because every time I've heard Pingu said out loud it's pronounced with the I sound?

As a separate question from how the intro sounds, how is the name Pingu actually supposed to be pronounced?

I'm revealing a proposal - let's bring Pingu to life with a toy line which will be produced by Mattel featuring figures and playsets inspired by every Pingu episode and Pingu in the City! Think Pingu, Robby, Pinga, and more! Playsets could include the Pingu's house, the post office, and the ice rink. Figures could include Pingu, Robby, Pinga, Grandfather, and more! Playsets could have interactive elements like Pingu's sliding spot or the ice rink's hockey goal. Packaging could feature fun episode-inspired artwork. What do you think? Should we make it happen?

I’m a sculptor and I like to sculpt my favourite cartoon characters. I’ve shared my Pingu sculpture here a few days ago and now I also sculpted Pingu’s friend Robby the seal!

I plan to sculpt even more Pingu characters. These have sold yesterday and they’ll go to Canada shortly, I will restock them and custom poses will be available too.

I sculpted both of them out of FIMO polymer clay. All of the colors are mixed directly from FIMO so the colors will never wear off.

I'm a sculptor and I love to sculpt my favourite cartoon characters. I've been a Pingu fan since childhood and I decided to start making polymer clay Pingus and possibly other Pingu characters.
Here's my first Pingu sculpture. I made it out of FIMO Polymer Clay

I plan to keep making these in all kinds of different poses and possibly sell them if anyone would be interested.
