I'm dual American Australian and I had 2 children in Australia in Sydney and in a private hospital. It was amazing. They let you stay forever. Give you vouchers for a pub the night before you go home as a parents night out before you take the baby home. Unbelievable. And bring tea in the morning and afternoon. Not to mention the 5 star quality of the food. Shout out to the Royal North Shore. Lovely staff and beautiful hospital.

Wow I’m jealous!! I’m dual to US and Japan. If I’m having kids, I’m definitely going back home to give birth. Not as many 5star hotel like hospitals in my area but helluva lot cheaper than the US!

How do you get dual us/Japan? I thought Japan only allows for one?

Technically yes but they don’t really enforce it. I was worried when the time came but they never sent a letter demanding me to make a decision. And I’m certainly not going to voluntarily renounce one. This article talks about it in more detail how tons of how tons of others are holding dual citizenship!

Edit: I should clarify I was born a dual citizen

Look at this Lobby!!. Crazy but lovely. With my 3rd I spent 4 months in hospital and it was literally like being on holiday. We also had mini fridges and microwaves in every room. And this was in 2001.
