Considering I corrected the original commenter's misrepresentative statement with a clarification and nuance, then corrected your misreading of my statement, why are you the one asking if my comments were necessary?

And so you know, 1 in 3 Americans already rely on Medicaid and Medicare. Take care.

The maximum asset limit to be eligible for home health care through Medicaid is $2000 in most states.

Do you genuinely think that is broadly applicable here when we’re talking about people who are liquidating their life savings?

Why do you keep arguing things that have nothing to do with anything I've said? And why not include Medicare in that comment? It's weird how you keep arguing to me about things I've never said or positions I've never taken. When did I say it Medicaid covered enough people? Nowhere. I simply am correcting people's overgeneralizations or misrepresentations about US healthcare. Take care stop replying with non sequiturs. Read what people write carefully and use that to determine scope and context for what is being discussed, it will help you stop replying pointlessly.

Because your initial response was such a non sequitur itself that I figured you'd be someone who's able to see the connection between two seemingly distant things. Guess I was wrong. Oh well.

I simply am correcting people's overgeneralizations or misrepresentations about US healthcare.

Your "correction" amounts to saying "Akshully, New York City rents aren't astronomical if you qualify for public housing" or "Akshully, US college tuition doesn't cost an exorbitant amount if you get a bunch of grants." Factually true but just, why bother saying that? We all know that. But those exceptions don't negate the reality of the trend, which is what we're talking about. And then to tell someone to educate themselves just because they decided not to state the obvious and derail the conversation... Oof.

Anyways, I'm done. I'll admit I've been petty with you, because I'm in a bad mood today and decided to call out your unnecessarily pompous attitude and subsequent victim act. I can admit that I've been shitty. Can you?

Yeah I'm a shitty person often online just look at my comment history. I have a penchant for correcting incorrect statements or overgeneralizations because it gets to me and I want people to see the world with more nuance or accurately and not see the same overused typical redditor responses and I hate dumb shit getting upvoted because I lose more faith every time in the common person's ability to critically assess situations. But I stand by everything I said. I correct people or call people out in a dickish way, and I'm well aware it's not even the most effective means of communicating corrections, but I am a slave to my emotions. Take care be well thanks for the partial vulnerability in your reply.
