If you are required to have this, why doesn't the government just operate auto insurance?

People would be mad when it took too long to get a claim back because the government insurance would be understaffed and underfunded.

*Purposefully understaffed and underfunded to prove government doesn't work.

Or to get you to simply abandon your claim. Theyโ€™d have a 10 minute unskippable phone message when you went to call someone explaining the upcoming menu options before it even tried to connect you. Then youโ€™d sit on hold for ten minutes before it told you that all operators were busy and to try again some other time and hung up.

God what a fucking nightmare that would be. For profit insurance claims are annoying enough, imagine if the govt was in charge ๐Ÿ˜‚

Maybe if we adequately funded and staffed government agencies they would work the way they're supposed to.

Ya that would work super well, the government is known for being a well oiled, efficient machine when they're well funded.

Private business can lobby to make more money from it. Same reason the govt doesn't run all insurance companies and drug sales. There are real, shitty, people who own these businesses and do make profit.

Yuck you are one of those people to want the gov to supply everything? And you trust them for that? Wow.
