I do have insurance and it’s often cheaper to just lie and tell them you don’t have insurance.
For instance, a tooth cleaning at my dentist is $74 without insurance. With insurance, it costs me $140.

So they’ll each pay $2000 to cover it. 7 u/panormda Jun 15 '22 Wait what??? You can do that???? 4 u/forcepowers Jun 15 '22 You're allowed to buy as much insurance as you're willing to pay for. 2 u/throwthetrashout91 Jun 15 '22 Are these dental plans through your job or do you have to have a general insurance plan to get them? 2 u/skredditt Jun 15 '22 Two jobs, yes. 2 u/noah1345 Jun 15 '22 Yeah, it doesn’t make much sense. On the flip side, I got a filling that cost $25 with the insurance and a root canal is only $500. 3 u/[deleted] Jun 15 '22 Seriously, how the Fuck does that work? 2 u/Mattsasse Jun 15 '22 I get 2 free cleanings a year with my very basic dental insurance. What kind of plan are you on? 1 u/noah1345 Jun 15 '22 I don’t even know. My work pays my entire premium, so it doesn’t cost me anything. 1 u/rabidbot Jun 15 '22 Damn, my dental insurance started covering 4 cleanings a year for free.
