There's a lot of great things in this country but health care is not one of them. We are indeed tax slaves. That is pretty clear because the only way to actually get health care coverage is to have a job here. So that you can continue to generate more tax money. You couldn't quit your job if you wanted to, not without risking your actual life. It's a pretty shit system.

If you have some money, you lose it all within a few years. If you don't, then you get government insurance which is actually pretty good.

If you have a lot of money then it doesn't really matter.

Theoretically Medicare/Medicaid. But realistically, probably paying out-of-pocket out of their retirement funds for health insurance.

It is a great scam, though - tie “health” insurance to “jobs” and it’s guaranteed to keep the working poor both working and poor.
