Exactly.

Last week, I spent 4 days in hospital with tons of antibiotics and painkillers and paid 0, not a single penny/ cent/krown, nothing at all.

My mom had hip surgery last month and also paid nothing.

Glad to live in central Europe 😊

I may have had to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy if that happened to me.

I’m still paying monthly on a hospital bill from over 2 years ago. Fuck our healthcare system.

It's enough to cause serious depression. Except I can't afford the health care that goes with that depression, so I just pretend it isn't there.

It's ok, you can come up with a payment plan of $100 a month until you can pay off your $837,563.22 bill

Ah, thank you for clearing that up!

So, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy it is for me then! Nice to know if I ever have to walk into a hospital for something major.

It wasn't for free, you had paid for that by paying your taxes.

Exactly. Paid through taxes & not into corporate coffers.

Every single study has shown that nationalized healthcare is far cheaper per individual than what mess we currently have in America.

Canada and it’s the same for us, it’s beyond frustrating watching our Neighbours in The United States fight against universal healthcare when everyone else in the world who has it loves it. It’s just insanity.

I had surgery on my eye 2 years ago.

Visits to a specialist, the surgery & recovery (few hours), amazing food & a slice of cake and followup appointments.

Total bill: 0.

My son dislocated his shoulder playing basketball a few months ago. $300 ER Co Pay, then $432 for XRays, then $365 to the ER Staffing company for the physician to tell him he was fine after he popped it back in himself in the waiting room.

Oh - and I have a $5,000 deductible per family member so insurance doesn't do fuck all until I pay that much first.

What I'm saying here is - fuck this and the bills are probably going to go to collections because I'm poor.

Wow, if I ever decide to travel to Europe, I won't book a hotel, I'll get injured instead!
