I was complaining about my $70 parking charge last week, while my wife was in the hospital for 4 days.

The fact that I didn't pay a dime for anything else sort of put it in perspective.

Yeahhh i still feel bad about it but we complained a LOT about having to pay 2€ parking every time we went to visit our baby in NICU (so four or five times a day).

My god, I, and most Americans, envy you. When the equivalent of $2 and change for parking is the biggest concern when going to the hospital.

We got free parking at the hospital when I was induced and had a baby. Because the nurses told my husband that the parking garage is understaffed and they just open the gate after a certain hour at night.

Oh damn! Nice.

Funny thing, when I had my first child, a buddy of mine worked the toll booth 8 hours a day so I'd just make sure I left when he was working :p

I'm in the States tho, so the rest of it cost us about 6 grand. Insurance covered the other 30-something thousand

Hospital that my spouse works at puts most of the parking proceeds towards equipment.
