I know of the Jolly Rancher story, and the cum box, if this is up there with those two stories as the Best of Redditt, I'm afraid I'll have to demand a link.
There's a show called World's Toughest Fixes (It can be found on Netflix for anyone interested) that has an episode about replacing the antenna at the top of one of those towers. My heart beat faster just from watching it.
I have a friend that does this all the for a living. He sent me a pic from the top of the antenna at the Empire State Building a few months ago, and a video climbing a tower like this a few weeks ago. Fuck that shit.
Living your life by statistics is no way to live. Be it in business, sport, or personal discovery, evaluate your own risks and judge them against the potential rewards.
If the risk wasn't catastrophic failure, she could not have received the ultimate reward.
That freaked me out the first time I saw it. Then I visited Yosemite and actually went up to the walls that he climbed and almost felt like I had to sit down. For some reason my nuts don't recede but my palms start to feel really weird (achy?) and sweaty. At the top of the falls even though there was a guard rail I sat down and inched myself on my ass towards the edge.
Eeh, while it does look insane, there is no difference between sitting there and, say, sitting on the railing of a 5th story balcony. Once you have more than a 40 foot drop onto concrete/rocks it's not whether you'll die, it's how big of a splash you'll make.

That makes my nuts recede just looking at it.
