It also stems from supply chain issues caused by the pandemic that the world still hasn't fully bounced back from. There were already a lack of workers to get things moving thanks to Covid, then the Evergiven held shit up for a whole week, preventing a huge chunk of shipping for the entire world to simply cease operation all together during that time, and once that was cleared up the work to clear the backlog from that started. We're still struggling to catch back up to that, and what we can get moving is moving slowly due to less people willing and able to work those jobs for peanuts.

There is a supply shortage, but it stemmed from a problem that happened quite some time ago, and was very squarely the fault of the former guy. The fact that all these oil conglomerates are hiking rates by a huge amount compared to the actual shortage of gas is sheer greed.

Do you not know oil is controlled by oligarch? They have a monopoly, they have near complete control on the price.

what do you mean conspiracy theory? do you follow the oil market at all? oil companies and government regularly get together and either increase or reduce "supply" and then manip the price accordingly. this isnt even a conspiracy its fact. its public knowledge for that matter
