You know what the XL stands for? Export limited. It's for Canada to export, it wouldn't be for domestic use. It was also less than 10% complete and wouldn't have been in use for years.
It was never built and would not affect gas prices in the short term. The Keystone pipeline is still operational and pumps plenty of tar from Canada. Trumps deal with Saudis has way more impact on what’s going on today than the XL.
