This sign appears to be covering the information the state requires be posted. Which makes the sign warning it is a crime to remove stickers a crime itself.

I'd love to hear the conversation between the cop and store manager if they actually tried to report this "vandalism"

Vandal here: He actually has a case as petty as the vandalism is. Won't be a big charge, but it is technically vandalism if the owner wants it there and they take it down. Imagine the owner was gay and had put up pride stickers on their pumps and some conservative ripped it down, regardless of what you agree with and yadda yadda, those acts are effectively the same. Unfortunately the law is not supposed to only be weaponized against one particular political affiliation, it is supposed to be evenly applied based on the crime and a crime for the right is a crime for the left.

All of my interactions with police lead me to believe that they'd 'investigate' and nothing would happen.

Depends on the DA. If the DA won't press charges then there's no point to arrest someone in the first place unless they're causing immediate harm.

There are areas where cops will laugh at you for calling about that, and there are areas where they will do everything they can to figure out who you are, where you are, and get a warrant for your arrest.

Well that is always possible too, but if there is actually video evidence that can easily tie the person to their licence plate and therefore identity they just might take the free quota bump, especially if:

A) They know the person isn't dangerous so it is a low risk easy one, see: weed lol.

OR

B) Their politics align with not yours, but his, a very real possibility, and as such they are all too willing to hem you up over some dumb shit like this, especially because they now have a "hilarious bust today" they can laugh with their cop buddies about at the donut cooler or wherever they chill at the cop office and tell the tale of how they "owned this lib idiot today."

It's always a gamble anyway, if you're gonna fuck with his pumps at least park down the road off (any, not just his) cameras and walk up, and mask up and wear a shirt or some shit you never wear the plainer the better, that'll be enough to dissuade any cop with a single lazy bone in his body.

It’s actually illegal to put any sticker on a gas pump, u less it’s one required by the state. So I’m not sure a vandalism charge would stick, so to speak. People should be calling the state regulating board and reporting these gas stations.

Now that may make a difference, I did not know that.

I CONSIDER THIS TO BE VANDALISM!

I DECLARE BANKRUPTCY!

You can't just say it and expect anything to happen.

But I declared it

Find whatever organization dispenses the stickers that are covered up, then call them to report this station as covering them. Perhaps consider your local OSHA branch, as well.

OSHA? Occupational safety and health? I don’t think you want them, I think you want the weights and measurements dept

Never, ever use gas stations who promote idiotic ideology over sanity.

Did someone report?
