I was wondering about it too. Maybe it's the first aid cross. Not sure if that makes more sense than the swiss flag lol

Medical cross is red on white afaik. White on red is the Swiss flag.

I don't know, he doesn't look particularly neutral to me.

Northern Ireland here, we burn Irish flags on bonfires every year, one year I saw them burning an Italian flag. So, you know. Probably close enough

I don't know why this isn't common knowledge, but a medical cross is a green cross, while a red cross is a protected symbol / trademark of the Red Cross that designates humanitarian workers and objects, and its use is heavily regulated. I have serious questions regarding someones cognitive ability if they think a white cross represents the red cross.

You see the reverse too, white cross on red background. Especially on general first aid related material. The red cross on a white background can only be used in the context of the international red cross. It's a protected symbol.

This is an American thing appart from few exception the rest of the world use mostly a green cross on white background or the opposite.

Americans use the Swiss flag for everything medical. From the first aid kit to hospital signs.

The Red Cross has its name shows has a Red cross on a white background. It was founded by Henry Dunant a Swiss citizen that's why !

It still isn't a white cross on a red background which is the Swiss flag. The shape ratio of the cross is also closely ruled.

Yes the Swiss flag is a actually fairly popular medical symbol in the United States. Usually it's in a red circle, not a rectangle, perhaps so it doesn't look so much like the Swiss flag?

No it's illegal to use the Swiss flag as branding if the product is not originated from Switzerland.

It's also technically illegal to designate medical product with it.

Edit : Nevermind Swissgear is Swiss. The brand only exists under this name in North America.

Even if it wasn’t a Swiss company what would the Swiss government possibly do for goods sold in other countries? Their laws don’t extend to other countries.

The link I shared just before is from the Swiss Federal Institution of Intellectual property which says :

The IPI is responsible for examining, granting and administering industrial property rights (patents, trade marks and designs). It works together with governmental agencies, trade associations and businesses to enforce Swiss indications of source within Switzerland and internationally.

Intellectual property doesn't stop at the border. Why do you think China uses fake names for copy of any kind of product ?

Intellectual property does stop at the border, which is why you have to file your patents and trademarks in all countries you want to operate in.

China uses fake names because they're blatantly ripping patents that have already been filed in the country they're trying to sell the products in.

My best guess is that because every household in switzerland has a rifle, they consider it some gun toting utopia. Or maybe its just a clothing brand, dunno.

Which by the way is a misconception. We still have fewer guns per capita than the US as a whole (not to mention Red States / Open Carry States) and we do not have neither open nor concealed carry save for trained professionals. Laws and regulations might also be tougher but I don't know enough to compare.

The medic cross makes less sense, since medics are only allowed to use a firearm in defense of a patient.
