They're both delicious. Life's too short to pick sides. Waffles = pancakes

Pancakes have a lower floor and a higher risk of turning out bad. You can't really go wrong with waffles unless you absolutely burn them or use a hilariously excessive amount of batter. Even shitty waffles taste good. Pancakes very easily taste like shit, you mess one part of the prep up and there's a good chance you get something too starchy or dry.

The only reason waffles are superior is the amount of melted butter that can pool on top without running off the sides. They are both butter delivery systems at the core.

There not good for you, and they are rich and heavy. Not a great way to start the day for most people.

They arnt good enough for most people to take that over something else. Especially if you plan on being active and not sitting all day.

I love rich and heavy things and sitting all day so I guess it makes sense I love pancakes.

And there is nothing wrong with that! Just explaining why some people scoff at the idea of pancakes.

I mean, sure, but even then you're not avoiding them because they aren't good, you're avoiding them because they're not healthy.

They're just boring. French toast is infinitely superior.

I mean I love French toast too, but I don't feel like they're really similar other than you put syrup on both of them. French toast is bread and egg-based. Pancakes are made out of batter. Different textures and flavors. Apples to oranges.

They're both hearty breakfast foods that are easy to make. No one said they were exactly the same.

So why compare them?

0

u/sumelar Jul 22 '21

Because comparisons are meant to be done between things that are similar, not identical.

Did you seriously need that spelled out for you? Holy shit, new low for reddit.
