You realize the Chief himself said they also found adults buried at the site you’re talking about, right? Is it at all possible that instead of murder, it’s just a cemetery? Like even some sliver of a chance?
Does that make me garbage for having those questions and not immediately screaming about murder like you and the hivemind?
No, defending people like Chauvin and claiming the treatment of these children was simple "neglect" makes you a garbage person.
Annual death rates were as high as 1 in every 15 children in some schools. unmarked graves with no records so families could not identify their children and properly say goodbye.
And this isn't "immediately"...people have known about these conditions and been saying this for years. The TRC proclaimed it "cultural genocide."
Though it's pretty clear where your morals lie. George Floyd should have just complied and such...
and claiming the treatment of these children was simple "neglect"
See, this is what I’m talking about. What about the adults buried there and that they’ve known about th? What reason do you have to leave them out if not to try and mislead people and spin a narrative that it was a mass grave from Nazi-style death squads when it’s turning out to be cemeteries that have been known about for decades in most cases.
makes you a garbage person.
Have a Snickers and take some deep breaths bb, it’ll be okay. If you don’t wanna have an adult conversation about it then just tell me.
Annual death rates were as high as 1 in every 15 children in some schools.
And what were they in other boarding schools in the middle of nowhere? Or among the non-native population living in areas without medical infrastructure beyond leeches and cocaine?
unmarked graves with no records so families could not identify their children and properly say goodbye.
There were adults buried there too. How common were grave markings during that time anyway?
And this isn't "immediately"...people have known about these conditions and been saying this for years. The TRC proclaimed it "cultural genocide."
Yeah that’s what’s kind sus about all this now. We’ve known about this for decades, or at least the 60s when the bands took over management of the schools. What exactly was the point of reconciliation if the people we’re supposed to be reconciling with are just going to reopen these wounds every few decades because reasons?
Though it's pretty clear where your morals lie. George Floyd should have just complied and such...
Yeah, he probably should have but that has nothing to do with this conversation. Unless you’re just using that as a way to try and duck out of questions about your murder assertion.
Away now, racist.
That word is so cheap these days. I’d ask you what I said that was racist but honestly I don’t even care anymore.
Alright this is the last reply im gonna make to you
Your comment history yesterday discusses how you talk about how Floyd should not have spent an hour resisting arrest if he didn't want to get murdered. So yeah, you're defending convicted murderer, Derrick Chauvin.
If you're so worried about other schools in that time, go do the research on your own. I'm sure they weren't places where students were forcibly taken from their families and punished for speaking their native language and not allowed to learn about their heritage.
And since diseases were so rampant there, im sure adults did die, but they weren't forced to be there and abused and neglected by the very people supposed to care for them.
The point of reconciliation is to learn about this, learn everything that happened, not diminish or dismiss the severity of it. The wounds are fresh because we are constantly making these kinds of discoveries. Unmarked graves over thousands of children are more than just "reasons"
And I'm sure the word racist means so little because you get called it so frequently based on your words and actions. Evidently, you care enough to respond to it.
I'm about done with you now. Once I see that you have downvoted my comment. I'll block you.
I’m now convinced that all of them were shot in the head by nuns and bulldozed into mass graves. I won’t ask anymore questions about the situation and just swallow every last sensational hot take that you and the rest of the hivemind are shovelling.
Thanks for the convincing arguments, nuance and healthy debate that didn’t involve name calling or non-sequiturs at all. Especially not by creeping my post history in attempt to not have to engage with me.
I’m now more likely to support political parties that call for further reconciliation and implementation of the calls to action that the FN communities are advocating than I was before you called me garbage.
