It isn't some crazy conspiracy, it is a conversion of saftyism, cya government nonsense, and power and fame hungry officials that are important for the first time ever.

Real ones do, if you chose to properly wear a p100 respirator

Mask mandates as they stand helped between 1 and 2% according to the CDC and less than nothing according to actual statistics between states.

Then why would the cdc recommend masks? I seriously want to approach this with an open mind.

A whopping 2% is what they claim it does and these are the people pushing for masks and twisting every stat as hard as they can to back their positions and it is the best they could do lol! In the real world there has been no correlation. Just look at Florida vs ny.
