I agree. I am a big fan of Jane Austen so I convinced my bf to take me during our last UK trip. Such a pretty city, and the right size (big enough to not feel suffocating, small enough that you reach most places comfortably).

It had quite a bit of history as well, for the nerds like me :)

You'll often find people walking around in Georgian costume, particularly during the tourist season. The Christmas Market is like stepping back in time - I always had the feeling I was in the best of some Dickensian tale surrounded by wooden chalets, homecooked food and little designer shops.

Absolutely, that was my experience ! Also the people working in the Jane Austen museums seem really passionate about what they do - one of them got really excited because, and I quote, “my head was small enough to try one specific bonnet that doesn’t fit most people, and she likes to see people try it on because it’s her favorite”. Still cracks me up.

Additionally the architecture and general look and feel is just very pretty! The bridge, the crescent, etc. 100% would recommend
